I would like to congratulate Tom Neal and his staff on Cal Coast’s accreditation by DETC. An official announcement will come later but the Commission voted yesterday.

    That's great!

It is good to see a legitimate unaccredited school step up to the plate!

Delighted to hear it. Thanks, David.

[Dr Neil Hayes (who comes here soliciting our praise and then trashes all of us elsewhere: the zenith of bulvonus) is characterizing this as a poke in the eye for degreeinfo, which proves something only about Dr Neil Hayes, not about CCU, DETC, or degreeinfo.]

My unalloyed congratulations to CCU's owner, staff, & (almost) all of its students.

This is great news! Maybe now that CCU is accredited they will consider holding graduation ceremonies.

    Good news!

P.S. Is Tom Neal the owner of CCU, if you know him please pass this suggestion on to him.

    Re: Re: California Coast/DETC News

It is possible that a few of the DETC accredited schools based in Southern California might hold a joint graduation ceremony. Nothing has been formalized - it's just in the early discussion stage at this point in time.

  11. Re: Re: Re: California Coast/DETC News

Good proposal David, I think that is going to be a very emotional, beautiful and deserved celebration.

If the ceremony took place, remember to have great press coverage.

Dr Latin Juris: You have repeatedly alleged--in veiled terms here, in explicit terms elsewhere--a conspiracy against CCU. What is your evidence? What is your documentation? Who's in this conspiracy?

Excellent! This would really make a huge difference to many students and their families. Believe it or not, many potential students may pass up this great school merely because they do not hold a graduation ceremony.

Thanks for the info. and consideration!

I don't know if it helped, but I sent DETC a long e-mail urging them to consider CCU for DETC accreditation on 1/3/05. I am an impartial observer who was waiting to hear the outcome from yesterday's meeting to consider a Bachelor's from CCU.
The crux of my argument was that I had heard great things about the school. Furthermore, CCU has been in business here in CA for over 30 years, on and on and on. I hope it helped!

    Take care,

    Abner

Not to pick nits, but then this makes you not an impartial observer.

As for CCU, my complaints over the years have been about its supposed doctorates.

Never had much of a problem with the bachelor's or even the master's programs. Certainly not RA quality, but they should fit in well with the lower level DETC programs. If they work hard, they could certainly get to that same level as Aspen University and Catholic Distance University.

    If they work hard.

  16. Currently, is Academic to explain this, for the reason that CCU is now endorsed and recognize by an Accreditation Corporation. However, if you just look very carefully of some past incidents, manifestations and issues, as Contreras said, “May be” or “possibly”, the question be answered.

As you now Uncle Janko, since you are a Spiritual Pastor- Leader, the Evil-Devil Spirit with MALA MENS and MALITIA PRAECOGITATA, works undercover.

I'm very pleased that CCU has attained accreditation for the following reasons.

    1. It is good for past graduates of CCU that now have some more tangible and believable evidence that their degrees are bona fide. Congratulations! (An exception is the CCU doctorates which are still a concern, at least IMHO.)

    2. The percentage of bona fide unaccredited schools has been significantly reduced (since this was such a small number anyway). This makes the identification of diploma mills that much easier.

  18. Congratulations to California Coast University! I knew they would do it. I look forward to getting started later this month. I am being reinstated into their combined MBA/DBA or PhD program. I was originally a student in the early 90s, prior to getting sick and almost dying. I am locked into the old tuition rate, and my program will cost $3,895. I already have $800 on account. I plan to work hard on the program, because I will never have another opportunity like this again. This is really Great News!

Neither is Cheyney. Too bad their regional accreditor doesn't have the sack to take action.

    Congrats to CCU!

Busho4: I do agree with you on something (actually, both parts of your post).

Dr Latin Juris: That's the weirdest reply I have ever received.
Of course, you didn't answer my questions.
