    Lat time I checked

Let me see there are 15 members on the Security Council. It takes a majority of them to pass a resolution. If you have the situation where two members that have veto over lifting the sanctions state to the body that the only way they will vote to remove the sanctions is for Saddam to be ousted and those other members vote to place the sanction in place they have AGREED to the requirement. Otherwise, vote against it. Point, 5 sanctions passed knowing full well that was the requirement. Looks to me like they agreed or none of those sanctions would have passed as 2 members are not enough to pass a sanction out of the council. Have you ever served on a parliamentary body? That is how things are done.

Let me get this right, you apparently expect that the President of the United States should have been the one to go out and collect the intelligence? I realize you have probably never been in charge of anything so you have no concept of the need to have competent subordinates. Having responsibility for something doesn't mean to person making the mistake should be let off the hook. I think you have a very misguided idea of what leadership is. Never mind the fact that much of the data wasn't even collected on his watch...

Kahn, I don't smear the French...

They do that all by themselves. The involvement of some of their government's ministers in the oil for food scandal while they are attempting to lift the sanctions says it all. If ALL memebers of the council had been holding Iraq's feet to the fire instead of some of them actively lobbying to let him off (the French) who knows if it would have had to come to this...

*Morten, I'm being sarcastic when I say stuff like that. Do you think that they don't label all Americans as arrogant etc; etc;? They absolutely do. They love our money and the security that we give them...they just don't think highly of or value us.

*The French have helped us...and we've helped them, too. Our debt to them is paid. If it wasn't for us they'd all be speaking German. You don't seem to see that they turned on us long before we turned on them. We've been disliked/hated by them for decades (and by your logic we probably deserve it). You probably (deep down in your heart) think that we deserved 9/11, too. We've been the world police, and the world welfare system for too long. What do we need them for anyway? Is it because they have the best army? No that would be us. Is it because they have the best navy? No, once again, that would be us. It must be because they are a world power! No, that's us again. It must be the wine then.

"Once again, YOU are putting up a "straw man" argument. I never said anything about "where's the WMD." I simply said that we had bad intelligence. And that the person that we trusted to be in charge of that -- President Bush -- is completely unwilling to take any responsibility for it." --->

That same "bad intel" was being handed out before Bush took office...why aren't you insisting that Clinton take some responsibility for it?

    Regarding the anti-semitism...

As a Jew, I would like to go on record with the following statement:

I just returned from the "Secret Jew Meeting To Take Over The World." The little Jewish grandmas cooked up a storm while the rest of us danced wildly to various Jewish songs; proud of our accomplishments including faking the Holocaust and pulling off 9/11.

Talks of taking over the enitre world <insert evil laugh here> continued throughout the night as a plan was formulated. I'd tell you all but then that would ruin the surprise!

LOL. As soon as I stop attending meetings, that when all the cool stuff happens.

No. He should have hired people who could do a competent job.

You said that the data was collected before Bush took office. Then why in the world would Rumsfeld tell us that they currently knew where the WMD were, when in fact, all they knew is where they might have been 3 to 10 years earlier?

Moreover, I expect the President to take the blame for mistakes made by his admisitration. Obviously, you disagree. Apparently, you think that the mark of a good leader is passing the blame to his subordinates.

    Oh you missed everything!

We paid George Bush, we bought some more banks, we bought England....

The most exciting snippet of the night was the news that Saul Rosenbaum bought 2/3 of Antartica. Part a) of the plan is to send a virus through the electrical grid, thereby shorting out all ice makers around the world. Part b) would then be to cut off chunks of ice from the Antartic Ice Shelf and sell them to ice consumers around the world for a hefty markup. It's pure genius.

The fact that I don't need something from someone doesn't mean that I will treat them as subhuman. Obviously, you disagree.

Once again, you are falling into the simplistic idea that a person who doesn't support Bush must be a Clinton supporter. That is complete nonsense.

In fact, I think that Clinton bears tremendous responsibility for the intelligence failures.

That's about the most offensive thing anyone has ever said to me. It's a lie. An evil, hateful lie.

    You are a liar.

Just out of curiosity who, in your opinion, would make a good president?

    Thanks!

*I haven't mistreated anyone. I don't think anyone deserves to be treated as a "subhuman" but I fail to see the value of having them as an ally. Relationships are supposed to be give-give...they've taken more than they've given and then have the nerve to consider themselves superior.

*Many of the people that despise Bush (as you do) are huge Clinton fans...my apologies for lumping you into a group that you feel you don't deserve to be in.

*For the record, I didn't tell a lie. I just feel that anyone that has as much criticizm of the U.S. as you do must feel like we brought 9/11 on ourselves. The majority of us are just a bunch of uneducated, homophobic, undiplomatic, unsympathetic, overly religious, gun toting, war-loving, Israel-supporting, Bush re-electing, anti-abortion, idiots to you "enlightened" few. My statement really wasn't just to you, grgrwll, but...if the shoe fits....I'm not stating this as fact, it's just my opinion. :D

Herein lies the problem, nations do not have "relationships" or "friends," they have interests, and that's a huge difference!

    Ron Paul

OK, maybe not. But it's an interesting proposition.

    I would say:

    John McCain
    Colin Powell
    Wesley Clark
    Joe Lieberman

Perhaps, someday, Barack Obama, as long as he doesn't get sucked in by the far left.

I also have high hopes for a new Congressman from Oklahoma -- Dan Boren.

I had a friend who was killed on 9/11, you cold bastard. The fact that I don't automatically agree with everything my President does actually shows my respect and love for this country. Of course, you are probably too stupid to understand that. You don't know the difference between blind allegiance to a leader and true patriotism. Just my opinion.

Deep down in your heart, you are probably an anti-American scum.

    Again, just my opinion.

grgrwll, any and everyone who reads your posts can understand where I'm coming from when it comes to you. You label anyone who does not agree with you. As ignorant as I may be, I have yet to call you anything other than your "handle". You are an antagonist. You go all over the board starting arguments. You don't want to debate or learn anything you just want to argue (and call names). You had a friend die in 9/11...I have friends risking their lives in Iraq--that has nothing to do with you or your character . I don't blindly follow anyone...I disagree with many things our current president has done. I'm sure he'll do more things that I'll disagree with..I do believe however that he is the man best qualified for the job. I'm shocked that you would dare try to call me unpatriotic when, from reading your posts, I've often wondered who you're rooting for in this war. I won't reduce myself to your level but...everything I said earlier is what I've picked up from your posts...all anyone has to do is go back and read them. Where's your evidence that I'm unpatriotic?

Jimmy, although I agree with you most of the time...I have to disagree here. How many times have you heard that the U.S. has strained it's "relations" with other nations? For there to be strained relations, I believe there has to be a relationship. Don't we refer to England as our close friend/ally?

OOps! I guess I did call you a name...at least I have evidence all over this board to support what I'm saying about you. You just don't like what I've said and so you've resorted to name calling. But you are the intellectual, right?
