Congratulations to Dr. Bill Grover, whose ThD thesis was just approved by the University of Zululand.

This thread is in regard to Bill's signature line. After an impressive list of academic accomplishments, one reads the words High School Dropout 1958. In my opinion, this makes Bill's doctorate even more impressive and meaningful--a tremendous example of what one can achieve.

Congratulations Bill and thanks for sharing this, Russell. My dad is one of the few folks who can share a similar story. He only went to school through the 8th grade but eventually earned his HS diploma in the military and kept on going to school until he earned his doctorate from University of Southern California - it took him 20 years from his first college course until his doctorate was awarded. He's 82 and still going strong - including supervising student teachers at Chapman University. It's among the many things that I admire about him!
