Here's an official list of all British higher education institutions with degree granting powers recognized by the British government (the "recognized bodies"): http://www.dfes.gov.uk/recognisedukdegrees/annex4.shtml And here's an official list of all the various British higher education institutions validated to teach one or more degree programs leading to award of degrees from one of the recognized bodies listed above (the "listed bodies"): http://www.dfes.gov.uk/recognisedukdegrees/annex5.shtml I didn't see 'London College' or 'University College Kensington' on either list. That suggests to me that this school should be treated with extreme caution. No not enroll in it unless you are completely satisfied that you know precisely what you are doing.
When my wife was an LSE postgraduate student we used to live in Kensington. Imperial College, for instance, was there in Kensington. I used to visit its magnificent library quite often. However, I never saw or heard from a London College in that neighborhood. Or in London town. But I might be wrong. Greetings
This college I did see. And I think it is legitimate, but the London College, as Bill said, should be treated with a lot of care.
Funny thing with the website is that they don't have a list of available staff and tutors or supervisors. Those are important.
digging This page gives this as the postal address: Admissions Office, UCK, The London College Victoria Gardens, London W11 3PE phone: 020 7243 4000 fax: 020 7243 1484 A check of this postal code on the Royal mail's site turns up the following: Future Systems Ltd, 20, Victoria Gardens, LONDON, W11 3PE Marsh & Parsons, 20, Victoria Gardens, LONDON, W11 3PE University College, 20, Victoria Gardens, LONDON, W11 3PE 1, Victoria Gardens, LONDON, W11 3PE 2, Victoria Gardens, LONDON, W11 3PE 3, Victoria Gardens, LONDON, W11 3PE 4, Victoria Gardens, LONDON, W11 3PE 5, Victoria Gardens, LONDON, W11 3PE 6, Victoria Gardens, LONDON, W11 3PE 7, Victoria Gardens, LONDON, W11 3PE 15, Victoria Gardens, LONDON, W11 3PE 16, Victoria Gardens, LONDON, W11 3PE 17, Victoria Gardens, LONDON, W11 3PE So we seem to have three things at 20 Victoria Gardens: "Future Systems Ltd., "Marsh & Parsons," and "University College." Marsh & Parsons is a real estate office with headquarters at the Victoria Gardens address. Future Systems is "is an architectural and design practice producing highly original work." The site shows a map of the neighborhood. For what it's worth, there is no university indicated on the map. Anyone in the UK feel like calling the architects to ask them what they see? G
Indeed very strange. It seems that colleges can be established quite easily in the UK although the validation of their degrees can be done outside the country, there is no real monitoring of this kind of outfit. My the Commonwealth nations seem to produce quite a few questionable organisations. At almost 9k Pounds (UK) their PhD don't come cheap and it does not say on the website who awards them either. Got burnt by an Australian one so do be careful.
ok, thanks all for your answares, this is what I thougt and this is really strange homepage with no staff imformation
According to the website they award their own degrees under a state licence in Louisiana. Malcolm S Jenner
