Probably the closest thing would be the Heriot-Watt MBA. The courses are self-paced. After each course is a 3 hour comprehensive exam. When you complete 9 exams (7 core and 2 electives) you earn the general MBA. If you want to specialize, you have to take 2 more exams.

Exams are done at certain times of the year all over world. I've lived in 4 different countries while doing this program and the farthest I ever had to travel for an exam was 2 hours.

The competency-based Master of Business Administration is specifically designed for experienced business professionals and managers seeking upward career mobility. The program prepares you for a mid-level to upper-level management position in business, industry, and non-profit organizations.
WGU's challenging MBA program is for individuals who already possess "real world" experience and seek in-depth knowledge in management and strategy. The program is flexible in two important ways. Business professionals with existing competencies can use knowledge they already possess to accelerate the time to completion. Plus, the online, mentored approach allows you to incorporate a rigorous MBA program into your already busy schedule. Elements of the program are designed to incorporate real issues at your current employment.

Upon completion of the program, you will be eligible for your Certified Master of Business Administration (CMBA) designation—a nationally recognized acknowledgement of business knowledge competence.

Build a wall and they will make tunnels.

    Where there's a will.... :)
Use the address of your grandma or of a mail-forwarding service.

Quite frankly, I do understand the reason for the restriction as stated on the WGU site:
Q: "Will you admit students living outside the U.S.?
A: "...Unfortunately, we have discovered we cannot always guarantee that the educational experience for students living outside the United States will meet our high standards for quality and convenience. It is our expectation that these problems will be solved in future years."

    1. For a school that does not offer courses, from what I gather, but has competency-based programs, what "educational experience" is meant here? There are excellent DL schools, accepting students not residing in the US, in the case that there is need for any supplemental coursework.

    2. What "high standards for quality and convenience," that do not exist but are expected to be met "in future years," are being referred to? Electronic communication means are virtually instant. No face-to-face sessions are required anyway. For any phone sessions, you can find international phone or VoIP rates that rival U.S. long-distance rates. I really don't see it. Anybody have more insight on this?
