I just noticed this MBA program at St Joseph's in Maine, thought I'd pass this along. It has a quality/leadership focus, looks like 14 courses, one on one independent study with faculty, CD-ROM lectures, no GMAT and $250 per credit or $750 per course. A few things I don't particulary care for, a 2 week summer session in Maine is required, also some of the course titles seem a tad flaky and there doesn't seem to be any electives allowed. I'm going to call for more information, though, for that price, I'm definitely interested. Has anybody on this board had any recent experience with St. Joseph's?
Good job finding this program! A few notes if I may. Total tuition $10,500 (assuming 3 credits each) 14 courses Quality Leadership Concentration Program Website & Courses The one problem I see with it are the course numbers (example: MB500). Will this cause a problem if someone wanted to teach with this degree?
I talked to a nice fellow named Bill at St Joseph's. Actually the tuition is up to $275 per hour or $825 per course. You need to take 2 courses in Maine during summer and those run around a grand each. Room & board run around $700. Bill says that this is pretty much mandatory unless there's an extenuating circumstance and you can get the dean to waive this requirement. You can begin your course at any time and have 6 months to complete. Also you have 6 months to pay the tuition charge in monthly installments. You can take up to 3 courses at a time. Admission is pretty open, just a bachelors and 3 references and you can begin taking classes while all this is in progress.
You also have to factor in the cost of the summer residency. You have to pay a fee for dorm and meals plus the regular tuition and books. I am a graduate of the BS program many years ago and the residency was memorable but stressful (back then it was 3 weeks).
