Assuming you already have an AA degree and need only to complete the BSCIS-specific courses and prereqs and plan to complete the remainder of your degree via Athabasca courses and computer certification exams, what would be the total cost (not just Excelsior fees) including books and everything else you shoud need?

I am guessing at the prices below:

13 Athabasca courses to complete the "Technology Core"(required technology core plus prereq courses, plus a math review course + application fee. I figured the 3 units courses cost about $630 USD after currency exchange to US dollars * 13.
    ----------
    $8190 plus application fee.

    Excelsior $815 enrollment fee + $495 per year * 2 years + $495 graduation fee.
    ---------
    $1805

Plus fulfilling the "CIS Electives" with certification exams:
MCSE $125 per exam *6 , Cisco CCNA Exam $125, Comptia tests $Security+ $207 + Network+ $225, training books for all these certification exams $1000?
    ----------
    $2307

I would then need to add a few hundred dollars for MeasureUp or Selftest/Transcender to review for the Comptia, Microsoft and Cisco exams.
    ---------
    $500

So far this looks like $12,000 -$13,000 unless I finish within 1 year and save the extra $495 yearly fee to Excelsior.
Anything else missing? What about the books needed for Athabasca?
I know I could save money buy skipping Athabasca online courses and just doing all proficiency exams and no courses, but I would rather do it this way.

I'd say your estimate is high. There's no need to spend so much money on books and training materials when a diligent internet search can provide free or low cost books and training materials. When purchasing suggested texts for exams, buy older editions of the books from half.com or amazon. That said, depending on how much training materials you require, this cost is quite variable.

Also, search for test vouchers for your CompTia and other certification exams. You can usually save about 30% with vouchers.
