This is a really interesting web site...click on the picture to see which members of Kerry's old crew support him.

The photo says OFFICERS - not crew members. His crew supports him 100%.

    I second this.

Really, there were enough folks manning Swift Boats that it's inevitable that some will be Bush supporters and some will be Kerry supporters, but those who knew Kerry personally support him by an overwhelming margin. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, given his record (which even Bush doesn't deny, though some of his supporters seem to think that purple hearts grow on trees, just as the Saxby Chambliss' supporters seemed to think Max Cleland lost three limbs playing croquet).

    Cheers,

I don't doubt that most of Kerry's crew supports him. The comraderie developed during combat probably transcends politics.

Agreed. And truth be told, if a close friend of mine ran for political office as a Bill Frist or Thad Cochran Republican, I'd support him/her regardless of party affiliation. One of the things that I'm sure helped Arnold out in California was that the Kennedy clan came out in force to support him. Even Ted Kennedy made a point of saying that he was a nice guy.

I don't think you can reasonably compare the two sites. The swiftboats site authors plainly state who they are, and have a very specific content focus, without any politio-bashing (ignoring, of course, the forum -- I'm speaking here of the content pages). The awolbush site, however, is anonymous, and seems to revel more in politio-bashing than focusing on one topic.

Politics aside, a critical analysis of these two websites (a skill highly required for doing internet research) would lead me to put more stock in the swiftboats site than in the awolbush site.

Join the navy to stay out of the jungle and you end up there anyway.

That's like doing guard duty to stay out of the war and your unit gets called up. The unlucky few.
