School of Genealogy and Heraldry

In my last post, some time ago, I forgot to address the issue of the American School of Genealogy, Heraldry, and Documentary Sciences. This School, although associated and recognized with most of the leading European academic genealogical and heraldic societies (see below), never stated that it was accredited as a degree program. The four (4) year program, of which the American School of Genealogy, Heraldry, and Documentary Sciences was a part, is merely concerned with providing courses in heraldry and genealogy for recognition and "certification" in Italy and some other European locations. In many respects the School that existed in the States attempted to possess a teaching structure like genealogy.com, the National Genealogical Society, the Alberta Family Histories Society, the National Institute for Genealogical Studies and other such schools and centers.

After one or two years, the branch American school closed down due to lack of students. The School, founded in 1995, still exists in Italy and provides on-site courses and training. Its affiliations include:

On another thread, Lerner posted a really useful WEB link to all institutions in Canada that are allowed to grant degrees or other credentials. 'Canada Pacific Western University' is not on the database.

What on earth is Canada Pacific Western University? Is this supposed to be based out of Vancouver?

In Vancouver we have:

Trinity Western University
University of British Columbia
University of Victoria
University of Northern British Columbia
Simon Fraser University
British Columbia Open University (DL)
A few provincial university-colleges...

Among a few others, but what a bogus scam... NOT a school.

 

CPW University is in the same league as Vancouver University or Senior University. It seems that all the canadian mills like to settle in this province.
