Governors State University BOG Program (New Website)

    http://www.govst.edu/bog/

I spoke with a representative yesterday about GSU’s BOG Program. I asked him to give me an overview of the program and how it works, This is what he told me:

    • Completion of this program will award you a B.A. with no concentration (you can choose to obtain a minor) from GSU.
    • 80 Lower Level Credits, 40 Upper Level.
    • 16 Upper Level credits can be transferred in; the remaining 24 must be taken at GSU.
    • Clep, Dantes, and ECE exams will be accepted.
    • If you live more than 50 miles away from GSU (located on the south side of Chicago 20 miles or so) they will allow for exams to be proctored.
    • His quote “This program is designed to award a BA to people who have a bunch of college credits but no degree”.
    • No application fee
    • About $120 per credit

Sounds like a good deal to me! Any Alumni or current students have any comments? This might be a decent alternative to the big 3? Can one take ECE exams with out being enrolled at Excelsior?

I saw that you posted your "Mill Shill" thing on another thread. Please do not interupt this forum. Thank you.

    Been there; done that.

It used to be just 15 credits from them or other BOG colleges. I completed the BA for about $1500, including the cost of a portfolio. Very cost effective.

I was very satisfied with them.
Graduate programs accepted the BA degree.

I give them a high recommendation.
    Good luck.
