    Third World

    Peter, Clarky and Amused,

I am very glad that there are others on this board who are generally sickened by the neo-Orientalist and neo-racist attitudes by people in the "developed" Global North vis a vis the "undeveloped/underdeveloped" South.

Thanks for standing up for what is right.

    Quick question.

    Hi there people.
Since we're all on the topic of third world countries/underdeveloped nations and their educational systems....

I've a quick question! I'd love to study in one of these educational countries, but have found most of them are restricted only to those of that nationality or residents of that nation.

Are there any universities in these countries, other than South Africa that would allow foreign students? I've read through some info for Open Universities in India/Sri Lanka/Pakistan and Bangladesh. I'm also looking into some in South East Asia, such as Philippines/Indonesia/Thailand/Malaysia. Haven't come across anything that's for a foreign student that's distance based.

If you have any cheap/inexpensive universites in mind, please provide me the names and i'll further check on them. Thanks,

I've checked through the RA/DETC and also Canadian universities with these options, they're pretty expensive for distance learners.
    Thanks again.

Liberia is another option cheap and accredited.

This thread was not started on the topic of thirld world countries and their education systems but was intended for seeking more information on University Tun Abdul Razak located in Malaysia. They are enrolling foreign student but with some residency requirement and it would be fairly easy for you get admission and obtain a visa. Fee is far lower than RA or canadian universities.

If you want more information on third world universities then you could start a new thread but instead of third world stick to the word developing nations. I might be able to contribute more than.

Liberia education is global joke yet St. Regis University still exists along with its phony group of universities.

    my reply

well anyway i found this thread interesting i felt bad that some people think that way towards 3rd world nation correction third world MEANS Developing Nation not underdeveloped nation! people jus kept bashing foreign degrees or school located in this 3rd world countries pls try to do more research before you judge there are hundreds of exclusive prominent universities in asia alone i dont necessary believe those acussations agains 3rd world country my mom cousins graduated abroad but their teaching here in the US since all their courses are compared to US RA colleges. (not to mention you never know how hard and strict educational studies in other countries so dont judge easily compared here in the uS)

    Re: my reply

Thanks for your post. The point is that lets evaluate an institution based on its faculty qualification and experience, teaching methodolgies, e-learning support, library resources, academic support, student, services, assessment methodologies, accreditations and quality assurance processes regardless of where it is located and keep the prejudice out of this forum.
