A Question... Is there, or can anyone compile, a list of all the acronyms that are used on the Degree Info Boards? I know some of the more popular ones (TESC, COSC) but others can be sometimes confusing - especially for new members. Thanks
Yeah, like what the heck is IIRC? Though I am fairly certain that once someone tells me what it is I will go ohhhhhh.....I knew that..
If I Remember Correctly . . . there was a thread a while back related to all these internet acronyms and expressions. Most are not exclusively degreeinfo acronyms. Ones like AFAIK (as far as I know) are widely used on the net. Acronyms like GAAP might come closer to being considered as "degreeinfo acronyms." Jack
Unfortunately acronyms seem to be getting much longer - we may soon need abbreviations for them. Oh for the days of the TLA!
Great idea Gina! Besides new members in the US, there are a number of people from outside the US on this board and I'm sure they'd also find it helpful. Like an FAQ at the start of each thread except this would be FUA (Frequently Used Acronyms).
As Rod Serling used to say, submitted for your approval: BFUS (Bona Fide Unaccredited Schools) or UCTOLD (Unaccredited Colleges That Offer Legitimate Degrees) Nothing like an acronym to foster acceptance.
