I've found online what looks to be a pretty terrible dissertation that an Indonesia car salesman did for his American World University degree:
    http://www.geocities.com/TheTropics/1509/thessis_dba.html

Skimming over it, it reads like the rather superficial notes a salesman might write for an office meeting. "We need to develop strategies so we can pick a stragegy," etc., etc.

I wonder if Daimler Benz knows that its logo is being used on the site. I hope they didn't pay his "tuition" for him to complete this less-than-wonderful paper.

Don't be too hard on the guy! The thesis does have 75 pages and 10 sources are cited. [IMG]

I just could take my eyes off of the author's name:

    "TriHariYadi Hari Mukadi, 1998 "

    I think it translates to

    Tried Hard, Have Muck.

I saw the 10 references in the bibliography, but I didn't see a single citation in the dissertation. Of all chapters, the lit review should be filled with citations indicating who wrote the lit that is being reviewed.

Actually, Paul, the citations are in size .2 font, while the thesis is written in size 12 font. With a microscope the citations are easily readable.

Is this a doctoral dissertation? It says in the title that it is in partial fulfillment of the MBA, then the link has DBA in it, then the summary page says doctor of philosophy in management.

Interesting observation, Bing, and this is the benefit of studying at AWU. It seems that one is able to begin the thesis/dissertation as a masters student (MBA), by chapter 3 one has progressed to a professional doctoral (DBA) level, and just as one is completing the bibliography the knowledge level jumps to Ph.D. level.

Could one possibly even begin their GED studies and end up with a Ph.D.? [IMG]
