Voulgar, let me explain to you how fraudulently obtained "diplomas" impact business. I am a Human Resources Manager who has been trying to fill two manager level positions for several months. The positions require a degree because we expect the incumbents to be able to advance rapidly through the company to executive level. But, while many of the candidates I was getting from Monster.com and other free resources had relevant experience, they did not have degrees. So, I was forced to use a recruiter, recognizing I would have to a pay a fee of 25% of the annual salary ($71,000) if they found someone and we hired. To make a long story short, after a thorough background check, I discovered that the Bridgewater University this person claimed as his alma mater does not exist. So now I'm out $17,500 for an employee who is no more qualified than the guys I could have gotten for free. That sits real well with my boss and my company. The irony of it is, I still cannot "prove" that this University does not exist.
