Hi everyone, I've set up a new forum at http://www.degreeforum.com that has dedicated forums for CLEP, DANTES, ECE, TECEP and GRE exams, along with a forum for the Big 3. It's a shell of what eventually will appear (as time permits), but the forums are up and running. Needless to say, there is just about zero content and 4 members thus far, so please drop by, register, and share your tips! Some questions you may have... Q: Is this site meant to be a replacement for DegreeInfo? A: Absolutely not. DegreeInfo has great discussion related to distance learning. DegreeForum.com was established to be a complement to this site and other learning sites out there. Q: How does this site differ than DegreeInfo? A: While DegreeInfo is dedicated to Distance Learning information and discussion, DegreeForum is dedicated solely to the Big 3, other institution's acceptance of CLEP/DANTES/etc. and the exams themselves. There are no arguments about accreditation, if xxxx or yyyy are diploma mills, etc. Q: Why provide this site? Aren't there enough sites out there already? A1: While there is a lot of information out there, I wanted to establish a purely practical site for those taking CLEP and other exams. An example - you are looking to take CLEP Humanities and want to hear about other people's experiences and share tips in order to get the highest grade possible with the least pain. Plain and simple. A2: At some point I may want to get portfolio credit for this...so it's not 100% altruistic...and of course I am also taking exams so sharing tips just makes sense. A3: Many sites (not DegreeInfo) seem to promote unaccredited degrees. DegreeForum.com takes the highest road possible - only accredited discussions will be allowed, hopefully confusing people less. As it's totally non-commercial, there are no biases as may be found on other sites. Please come by and pay a visit! Cheers, Mark
If you want I can have a fight with Rich/Gus to perk up interest. The plus side is we can bring it back to degreeinfo to finish it. One condition - Rich/Gus has to be banned when it's over.
I was pleased to enroll as a Freshman at Mark's new site. I think this will be a great compliment to DegreeInfo, especially now that I'm addicted to education sites and there are so few that have any quality to them. It looks professional and is easy to navigate. I hope the squabbles will not follow over, while they are somewhat entertaining I think they might drive otherwise inquisitive people away and I don't think that's what most folks want or need when trying to finish their legitimate bachelor's degrees. Thanks Mark for all your work.
Thanks...now all I need are contributions - after a while it'll get tedious if I supply all of the tips and suggestions
Ask and ye shall receive. Also, did you contact Lawrie Miller for a link? This would be a great cross over site for him as well.
Guitarmark, Good luck with your site. In this jungle of educational mumbo jumbo, we need lights to guide the way. Your site, along with many others that are stellar(BAin4weeks) will help me show my students to never ever give up. Thank you and good luck.
Dennis betrays his proclivities. Doubtless he will respond with "I was only joking," or somesuch smokescreen. You might want to ban him proactively. Jack
