Students launch class action after learning degree was useless.

I didn't get the last part, the program was accredited in July 2022 and mentioned students who graduated before that 'have an accredited' degree... So, is it or isn't it accredited (as per their response). If it wasn't accredited when the students graduated, it shouldn't be accredited, they should give these who graduated an appended or updated graduation (with no other requirements if there weren't any changes done to the program).

The school is comparable to what we'd call "accredited" in the US. I suspect--without actually viewing the video--that the degree program wasn't listed in the AQF right away. Yes, I agree that the degrees should be considered "accredited."

Covid might if played a factor in getting accreditation but they claiming it should have been accredited since 2019 so something prior stalled it.

Weird. The wiki is pretty open about sackings, controversies, false research scandals, sexual harassment and a gang rape, but NOT ONE WORD about this (non?) accreditation issue. What gives?

This school has had enough woeful instances of severe human failings that:
    (a) Perhaps it should never have been accredited in the first place (It definitely was, they say) AND / OR
    (b) It should be shuttered - never to be accredited again. Period.

It takes, I think, a peculiar kind of faith to stick around in a school like this for four years with these kinds of events swirling around. It's intensely unfortunate that the students' persistence and hard work resulted in their being awarded flawed degrees. Could authorities not have stepped in sooner?

Or maybe TRACS could help, here. They've managed before... :)

How can they make a statement like, "commencing SP2, 2019, will be accredited 2019"? No one can predict the outcome of the accreditation process. The most they should have stated is that they have applied for accreditation. That way, the students would know what they are getting into.

Walden actually allows you to attend their new programs for free until the program gets accredited, knowing that it might not in some extreme unforseen circumstance. They tell you when they anticipate accreditation but it's never guaranteed.

In the one program I considered attending (their MS in Data Science) they did get accredited on schedule, for what it's worth.
