Traditions like racism, slavery, and misogyny? Those aren't a good thing to keep around.

Ignoring Biblical things like not eating shellfish, not wearing mixed fibers, not charging interest, being accepting of earthly authority (Caesar), being kind to your neighbors... those kind of things?

Oh, wait, sorry! Those are things that the right ignores.

I wouldn't expect them to like the parts they disagree with.

The parts they don't agree with, they want to change.

I don't believe this assertion is really true. At least I don't see any arguments for it being true. How does EC protect against the tyranny of the majority? Unless by that you mean that Bush and Trump, for example, can be elected to the presidency by getting a minority of the the popular votes? I also don't see any relationship between the electoral college and coalition building or reducing voter fraud?

Your examples about Texas and California have absolutely nothing to do with the electoral college that I see. Texas switched from Democrat to Republican because the racists moved from the Democratic party to the Republican party after the voting rights acts in 1964 and 1968. My parents included in that switch. California moved further away from the Republican party when the Republicans in the state took a hardline stance against immigration and Hispanics in the 1990's.

They want to change without going through the trouble of having to amend the constitution.

The changes they want either take away rights or game the system to favor the Democrat party.

Not sure I agree with this. Trump was dumb enough to not be able to pull off a coup. The next one might be a lot smarter.

    LOL!

You got me there. I guess I'm just the eternal optimist that believes that once Trump is purged from the party the next Republican party leader is unlikely to be a insurrectionist traitor.

I hope you're right. However, Trump created the playbook for an authoritarian takeover of the US. The majority of Republicans today believe that there was significant voter fraud in 2020. It's scary, and it shows how fragile our Democracy really is. Thankfully, we saw that Independents rejected the crazy candidates in this election cycle, and hopefully they continue to do so.

Like the conservative Supreme Court did in Heller?

There seems to be a great deal of support in this country for such a person. I don't think that will go away if he does.

Dobbs is a much, much stronger example than Heller to make this point.

Funny you mention the Bible: "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye."

As a conservative with severe libertarian leanings, I'd prefer another candidate, to put it mildly. One without the drama, constant self-hype, and legal baggage (ahem...he's also a Floridian).

In fairness, that goes both ways. Politicians do things that violate law or the spirit of the Constitution and their followers go along with that but call for blood when the people they see as opponent's do a similar thing on a different matter. Sometimes even on the same matter as history has shown from time to time.

As for the Bible, anyone who is a Christian is literally ignoring parts they don't agree with since there are a number of parts from the Hebrew Bible that Christians don't follow, but parts within the same sections that Christians do. I'm not criticizing the dogma of that, or even saying it's right or wrong, I'm simply saying that in our endless quest to be on the right side of things, in the end--with some exceptions--what's right or wrong on these matters is really based on which side one sits. And, for the history books, which side won and got to write the history.

Slavery was abolished long time ago, this shouldn't indicate the end of electoral college, and disregard the vote of smaller states in selecting a president in the USA.

There are many god traditions that I would like to see kept. 10 commandments are great foundation upon which the laws are built.
The 10 commandments don't mention eating kosher or wearing mixed fibers or other similar ordinances.

    1. Do you argue that the finding of a Constitutional right to abortion exists in the Constitution was correct and unchangeable? Stare Decisis for eternity?

    2. In Heller, the Court held the Right to Bear Arms is an INDIVIDUAL right. The Prefatory Clause, the bit about a Well Regulated Militia, was not intended to infringe on that Individual Right.

Based upon his Supreme Court appointments alone, I am President Trump's liegeman for life. I love and support him for so many other reasons.

    In Trum I Trust. <3 <3<3

The verse in the Bible, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” is commonly known as The Golden Rule.

This is the moral principle often taught in Ethics courses.

Contrary to popular belief, there is no separation of church and state in the constitution.

"...take the guns first and then go to court."

"I like taking the guns early..."

"Take the guns first, go through due process second."

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof... but that doesn't mean that Church and State have to be separate or anything. I mean, why would you ever think that?"

    - The First Amendment (supposedly)

I could not open the video. It appears this video appears to have been made in the aftermath of the
Stoneman Douglas High School murders. The murderer, we know his name, I will not write it, should not have been allowed to acquire any weapon. Any weapons in his possession should have been confiscated before his heinous actions based on facts known at the time.
