I assume what Steve was referring to was your statement about there being 54 states. I too was surprised by that assertion. For myself, I thought that there were only 50 states.

Ya, I was surprised Steve said that since my post contains a link that shows all the states.

We're still waiting. Tell us the 4 States we don't know. This I gotta see.

"War, Pestilence, Famine and Death" maybe? And possibly a fifth -- "Inflation?"

OK. If you're replacing Premier Doug Ford with ...ANYBODY else (except D. Trump) -- then go ahead. I won't try to stop you. :)

I'm just trying to be merciful here, LevelUP. There are 50 states in the USA. Two senators are elected from each state which makes 100 in the senate. The current senate is split evenly 50 Democrats and 50 Republicans. It is absolutely already as even as it can possibly get in the senate. However, the Vice President leads the senate and gets a tie breaking vote so that makes 51-50 currently. One last thing, I hope that I don't have to explain Johann's most excellent joke but it is a pun on states.

So I guess my joke flew over your heads.

Well, here's a hint. Roll over your mouse pointer where I said "54 states."

Ahhhhhhh. On my screen at least it's not highlighted as a link. Okay that is funny.

Yes, it's not highlighted any differently from the rest of the text on my system as well.

I was confused trying to figure out what was going on, thinking things like maybe LevelUP was a young teen or from a different country or something but it just wasn't making any sense. I feel much better now. :D

At this point we have a political party that has cemented itself with craziness… and another party that’s like a moth to the flames of unforced errors…. Only projection I have would be pessimistic… so I’ll just focus on supporting the presidential campaign of Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Camacho…

It appears that right leaning pollsters may be flooding the system with polls "massaged" to make it appear to the public that a Republican red wave is in the works. The idea is that when it doesn't pan out then they will exclaim, "See! Democrats stole the election again!"

This Politico article makes reference to it.

    quote:
    "Partisan Pollapalooza
The flood of independent, nonpartisan polling on Monday prompted a popular question from some Democrats: What took so long?

For the past week or so, polling averages like RealClearPolitics and FiveThirtyEight have seen a steady stream of surveys from Republican (or Republican-leaning firms). That’s led to a social-media debate over whether the GOP’s uptick in the polls is real — or whether it’s an artifact of which polls are comprising these averages.

How much of an influence are the Republican polls having? In New Hampshire, four of the last seven polls in the FiveThirtyEight average are from Republican firms. In Pennsylvania, it’s the three most recent polls, and six of the last nine. In Georgia, five of the last seven."

    Politico is an accurate source.

I'm happy John Fetterman whooped that Dump-backed Mehmet Oz. I'm so proud of my immediate past state for voting wisely.

I wasn't worried about Josh Shapiro. I knew he would be governor. His record as our AG has been impressive.

I'm thrilled that Maryland elected its first Black governor (Democrat).

Massachusetts electrd its first LGBTQ+ person as governor (Democrat).

Republicans lost both states... haha :D
