  1. Thank you so much, my dear friend! I’m so grateful for your help! I think you’re right. It might be a bit much. I am planning on leaving my school job for a desk job that I just got, but still, even without my stressful job, it might be a heavy load of work. :D

No need to thank me. Just lookin' out for a friend. Doing the best I can as a rank amateur. But please, remember - that's what I am. Just thought - probably, the desk job is a very good move and removes a stressor. There's always some stress in any new job at first. due to unfamiliarity, but hopefully a lot less than you had. I wish you the best in everything you do. You're brilliant! Anyone can tell that!

I have to go now and work on my diss. for my Doctorate in English Literature - at Abide University, the home of Dudeism. My Dissertation work concerns an answer to "Who Made the Greater Contribution to Rhyme in English Literature? Busta Rhymes or Algernon Swinburne?" :) So far, it's a toss-up. There's gonna have to be a shoot-out, I think. That's difficult, because Swinburne died in 1909...

    For anyone interested:

    Busta Rhymes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Busta_Rhymes
    Algernon Swinburne: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algernon_Charles_Swinburne

That sounds like a heavy course load for undergrad, let alone graduate school.

Johann is wise. I know from experience that enthusiasm sometimes leads us to bite off more than we can chew.

  6. You are all the absolute sweetest! I am truly so grateful I found this forum. Your advice really means the world to me, and you have my deepest gratitude. Thank you so much, from my heart of hearts, everyone! :emoji_heart:

I think it'll be so hard to defer my admission to the PhD, but it's the most logical choice right now. My PhD will be waiting for me in Fall 2023. :) For now, I'm going to work hard to change my career and go for the MLIS.

I have to think you'll get value from that MLIS transferable to the work of a PhD in English, too.
