Has anyone begun working on this? How has it been going?

Has anyone actually received graduate credits for any of the courses yet?

There are some members on DegreeForum who have posted their experiences.

No one has credit yet because you have to finish all five courses before you can get approved for credits, and not all five courses have been released.

I’ve completed the first class in a little over 2 weeks. It was easy. My grade hasn’t been finalized but it has been marked as completed. I will get an A for the course although it is possible it could be an A-. The remaining ungraded portion is only 5%.

I am still very slowly working through it. (Along with some other unrelated things). Is there a point where someone actually reads and grades what you wrote?? From what I have seen so far, it doesn’t seem like it. It seems almost impossible not to get an A.

I’m not sure. They may not start grading until after the certificate is completed. They will have a lot to grade as a free certificate with so many learners. If the rest of the courses are like the first course in terms of difficulty, A grades should be easy to get. I’ve heard the minimum requirement to pass is a B+ or a B. I’ve heard both but it seems you have to be careless to get any type of B grade.

Once you complete a course, do they automatically release the next course to you? Whether finally graded or not? Or do you have to wait for a final grade, or some other people of time, before you can enroll in the next course in their sequence?

They have not released all the courses yet. And they haven’t announced when they plan to do so. Or at least, I don’t recall if they said when they plan to do so.

From what I recall, each new course is released roughly every two months. The next course comes out in June. They also stated we can complete the courses in any order so the courses will be available to everyone regardless of rather or not a previous course is completed. They do recommend we take them in the order they are offering them.

How has this been going for folks? Is it still only one course out? Have they actually done grading yet?

It is still the one course. (And a bootcamp) I have been going through it very slowly. I still haven’t seen any further information about how they will grade as far as getting actual college credit. Since you have to finish all 5 courses for that, I guess they figure they still have time to iron it out. Personally, I don’t think I will go for credit. It’s probably just going to be a personal development type thing for me. Nothing is graded by an actual person so far. It’s all pretty automated. I reached out and asked if there could be some type of forum for students at least to bounce questions off of. They said that they were planning on launching a community aspect at a future date.

So the idea of actually getting this Executive Certificate from the program seems like it's going to be a very long process, yes? If it launched several months ago and there's only one course out, and you need five, it doesn't seem like anyone will actually be completing this for perhaps a couple of years at a minimum.

I have no first-hand knowledge, but that would be my guess.

I have been thinking about you all on this thread but decided to wait till someone posted an update. I’ve been wondering what’s going on with this certificate program. The second course was scheduled to be available in June but that never happened. I’ve almost lost interest now in completing the program. They expected way too much too soon for this initiative. I’m glad it’s free as we have nothing to lose on personal development.

Indeed. I fear this whole concept will go down on the wrong side of distance learning without a single certificate issued.

It might indeed. I wouldn't have been at all surprised, if it were on some remote island - but this is ASU. What gives? Did they simply bite off more than they could chew, or...? The least they owe people is a clear and prompt explanation (and an apology might be nice, too.)

Global Management? So far, this seems to be an exercise in how NOT to do Management -of any kind.

I don’t see any indication that they are quitting this program. They still talk about it on their LinkedIn and Facebook pages. And I recently emailed the 100ml support and they responded and mentioned their plan to have a student community set up in the near future. They could have just hit a speed bump with staffing or tech issues or something like that.

For anyone that wants to have a nice finished certificate for now, you can still do the bootcamp. That’s a one and done program. And while going through both of them when it was launched, I found that there is quite a bit of overlap.

I hope that's true, although I am inclined to think opposite. Generally businesses and initiatives hit the ground running and, unfortunately, some stall out. This one doesn't even have the gusto at the beginning, which is highly concerning. Missing deadlines at the start is problematic enough, but insinuating this program can help people with their education, and then taking much longer than anyone may have anticipated, is additionally worrisome. I shall certainly hope to be wrong, of course, as I too would like to finish the program.

Hehe, I haven't started yet, I added it to my "programs to-do list" and I'm going through that slowly but surely. Also waiting to see how others are doing and what they've reported back before I begin...
