Quantic has expanded their offerings! But not in Computer Science or Data Science or any of the other tech topics as expected. Instead, under a new imprint called the "Valar Institute" they are offering an EMBA in Strategic Leadership.

It takes out the statistics content in the current MBA/EMBA, and replaces it with a Business Communications module, and then adds some additional material on Innovation, Creativity and Strategic Leadership. You can see the curriculum here: https://valar.quantic.edu/executive-mba/curriculum/

Many of these courses that were not in the MBA (e.g. the Blue Ocean Strategy and Balanced Scorecard) are available in the Quantic course library to alumni. Later I'd like to go through the whole curriculum and see what courses I would need to take to have the equivalent of this new EMBA (not because I want to take them, mostly out of curiosity.)

Like the other Quantic programs this one is $9900. Here's the catalogue: https://uploads.smart.ly/accreditation/catalogs/Valar_Catalog.pdf

Just received a message from them on social media, that they’d like me to apply for this. Strange marketing strategy, but actually has me considering it.

Cool name. Does the degree come with blessings of Manwë and Varda? What's their accreditation status in the realm of Valinor?

Full Accreditation by the Middle Earth Commission, which consists of all the Aratar - the High Ones of Arda, the eight greatest of the Valar. It's all good... :)

Because it is not mentioned in this thread specifically, I would note that the Quantic School of Technology is accredited by the Distance Education Accreditation Council (DEAC), a recognized accreditor of distance learning programs. Credits and degrees from DEAC-accredited schools may not be accepted where credits and degrees from regionally accredited schools are expected, or in other academic and professional settings. The extent of this phenomenon is not known.

Got the following email today, noting the addition of an MBA in Leadership and a 6-month boot camp for new managers (that last one doesn't seem to be published anywhere.)

    Hello Dustin,

We recently launched Valar Institute, a division of Quantic designed to help professionals become more impactful, persuasive leaders in the new world of work. Valar offers an EMBA in Strategic Leadership, an MBA in Leadership and Management, and a 6-month leadership bootcamp for new managers. As a member of the Quantic community, we wanted you to be aware of these noteworthy additions!

By continuing to expand our product offering we are able to help more students advance their goals, while growing Quantic’s global reach and reputation. Please join us in welcoming Valar students into the Quantic family!

Follow Valar Institute on LinkedIn or Facebook to find out about the latest updates.

While we know that many of you are excited about these new offerings (we are too!), note that we are unable to admit Quantic MBA or EMBA alumni into the Valar program at this time. Should this change, you’ll be the first to know!

Thank you for taking part in this journey!

    Best Regards,
    The Quantic Team

Here's a translation of the whole work, for those unfamiliar with Elvish. Apparently, it was not translated in Lord of the Rings.

    O Elbereth Starkindler,
white-glittering, slanting down sparkling like a jewel,
the glory of the starry host!
    Having gazed far away
from the tree-woven lands of Middle-earth,
to thee, Everwhite, I will sing,
on this side of the Sea, here on this side of the Ocean!

    O Elbereth Starkindler,
    from heaven gazing afar,
to thee I cry now beneath the shadow of death!
    O look towards me, Everwhite!

@Stanislav - sounds a bit like Ivan Franko, no? His "Zemle Moya," maybe? Nice lyricism, anyway. In both. :)

A bit, yeah. As a nation, we certainly have something in common with Rivendell - having to withstand Orcish invasion.

More "on topic", since Elbereth Gilthoniel is Varda, the Queen of Valar, this is basically Valar Institute's Alma, right? Come to think of it - a fitting name for a school of Leadership; who's more of a leader than the Powers of Arda themselves?

I bet they have fierce football rivalry with Morgoth Institute of Technology.

Sadly, true. On a happier note, I do see one definite parallel in Ukrainian and Elvish. Both have absolutely beautiful alphabets. Likely because both alphabets are products of great minds: Sts. Cyril and Methodius on one hand, J.R.R. Tolkien on the other.
