I love this. Having fun and keeping it silly. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/birds-arent-real-origin-60-minutes-2022-05-01/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=news_tab#x
This is veering into slightly dangerous territory because there are now people who genuinely believe that birds aren't real.
Maybe some of the same ones who STILL think the Earth is flat - or is only 6,000 years old. We live in nutsy times - a nutsy society. It's a world problem. https://www.cnn.com/2019/11/16/us/flat-earth-conference-conspiracy-theories-scli-intl/index.htm
This is happening with increased regularity. Certain online communities known for trolling have jokingly promoted things or appreciated them ironically (like the "OK symbol" being code for white supremacy.) Then others show up who aren't in on the joke and they take it seriously. And then it spreads until it's run by people who had no idea the original wasn't genuine. Gee - maybe we need a Gov't department to shut nutty movements down? I remember the "S.S. Dept." (Silly Stuff) in the police station, in Dick Tracy comics, when I was a kid. People reported unbelievable stuff, they were directed there. Maybe a comeback?
