Even if none of those particular sources lied, it wouldn't at all change the point that I made, because the conglomerate of legacy and left-wing media is much bigger than a handful of syndicated networks these days. I don't watch CBS, nor read anything from CNN, but NBC and ABC have done a wicked good job of putting the spin on the story (I usually actually enjoy both networks, even though the bias on political and politicized stories makes me cringe). So, I kick this back to you. Which shows would you accept as representative of those networks? If GMA and The View count, I have a feeling you'd happily concede before we even got started:emoji_joy: What would you consider a lie? Would telling a half truth, cherry-picking, using loaded language, being selective with which interview statements to fact check or letting guests say false things without any correction be considered lies? How about using the weasel words "some people say..." in order to introduce a false claim, while making absolutely no effort to assess its accuracy? Because they do that in almost every single show and that would be easy to demonstrate. Do you want me to find an incontrovertible assertion of fact that directly contradicts the evidence? I'd have to go back and re-watch episodes from weeks or months ago to find a specific time stamp and even then, I'd have to argue the point that they were wrong due to bias rather than error, and that would be an overwhelming cause to take up without sitting down with you and watching months of TV together in order to demonstrate a one-sided pattern. In that case, I'd expect lunch be on you.

If murder was legal in Wisconsin, then it wouldn't have been possible to arrest and charge someone with it and have a criminal case be considered by a jury of his peers.

What IS legal in Wisconsin, apparently, is rioting, looting, vandalism, arson, assault, terroristic threats, and the gang beat-down of a minor by 4 adults, one of whom using an illegally posessed gun to threaten his life.

As is a malicious, politically motivated procecution that witholds evidence, attempts to flagrantly violate the accused's constitutional rights, appeals to video games as an indicator of motive, outright lies to the jury about what the law states and what the evidence shows, flagrantly disobeys multiple direct orders from the judge, and went so far as to actually point an actual gun at the jury.

Because, unlike the kid who was acquitted on the grounds of self-defense, none of those other people have been charged with anything.

    This should help:

I'm not responding to anything else you've said to me in this thread because I have no interest in yet another bad faith exchange where you strawman the hell out of everything I say and personally attack me every chance you get. I'd rather debate Cathy Newman on the gender pay gap.

I usually watch CBS Evening News with Norah O'Donnell. It is very factual and even reporting. I wouldn't consider GMA or The View type shows news shows. The whole problem with those type of shows is what is wrong with talk shows in general masquerading as news. It is unscripted. It is unedited. It is not fact checked. Those shows are more for entertainment than news. The best place to get news, IMHO, is printed material.

According to https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/ about the best accuracy that the talk show format news media can get is "Mixed" accuracy. Fox, CNN, and MSNBC are all rated Mixed. CBS, NBC and ABC are all rated as High accuracy. Which is two steps above Mixed, but I'm sure they don't consider shows like GMA or The View in that mix.

Regarding lunch, if you ever find yourself in San Diego with some available time, I'd be happy to buy you lunch. :emoji_fork_and_knife:

No, the judge banned MSNBC not NBC. NBC news owns MSNBC.

A large majority of the Republican base believes that Trump won the election. That indicates to me that they do not watch CBS, NBC, or ABC as you seemed to claim in a different post. Since almost 25% of the Republican base believes in QANON I'd argue that is a strong indication that they get their news from social media.

NBC - We regret the incident and will fully cooperate with the authorities on any investigation," NBC News said in a statement.
Schroeder revealed that a person working for NBC News had been cited for running red light.... allegedly following the jurors.
Schroeder identified the man as James J. Morrison and said he was working for MSNBC, the cable network that is part of the NBC News Group.

They definitely watch CBS, NBC, or ABC. They also watch Fox, and QANON related outfits.
You forgot Rush / Clay Travis and Buck Sexton and other conservative talk radio.

While I just last few days catching up on the trial and incident.
I read that the guy rightfully had his gun with him and vising there with the family before the protests. There was video presented in the court showing that he was attacked by people biting him up with skateboard, another one was pointing gun at him etc. So what happened was self-defense?
I wasn't in the court, I didn't see all the evidence that the jury was presented with.
I understand that the media influence people, even the president Biden called him white supremacist. Seems like media painted wrong picture.
Which was proven in the court that he wasn't.

All five charges not guilty based on all the facts that were presented to this jury in this case.

THE COURT: Members of the jury, are these your unanimous verdicts?

    VOICE: Yes.

THE COURT: Is there anyone who does not agree with the verdicts as read?

    Not guilty on all charges.

This is not over yet, as there is a possibility of Federal charges.
Also There maybe law-suits against the media and other individuals for defamation.

I was trying to explain to you that NBC owns MSNBC. That's why your source mislead you. Although I believe, as usual, you just didn't read what you were referring to.

    Opinion:
Biased Rittenhouse coverage makes everyone angrier:

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/opinion-biased-rittenhouse-coverage-makes-153957183.html

The danger of such left media reckless legal analysis is now evident. Judging from the coverage, one could have easily concluded that a conviction in this case was inescapable.

As to MSNBC vs NBC - It was NBC that made the statement - NBC - We regret the incident and will fully cooperate with the authorities on any investigation," NBC News said in a statement..
Yes, the freelancer was working for MANBC and it was MSNBC banned from the court.

To recap, you made an incorrect statement. Specifically, you said, "Did the Judge on this trial banned NBC from the court"

Then I corrected your misstatement that it was MSNBC that was banned.
"No, the judge banned MSNBC not NBC. NBC news owns MSNBC."

Then you quoted a statement by NBC apologizing, apparently erroneously thinking that it proved the judge banned NBC rather than MSNBC.

Then I posted 6 references proving the judge banned MSNBC not NBC.

Then you prove once again that you can't follow a thread by trying to twist your incorrect assertion into a correct assertion.

Just because he was acquitted doesn't mean he didn't murder two people. He did.

    It is sad.

What bothers me the most about this is that civilians walking around on a busy public street with a combat rifle loaded and ready to fire, unless they're police officers should not really be allowed. Especially for an underaged kid.

edit: the SNL skit regarding this was HILARIOUS!

Sure, if you invent your own definition of "murder" that is different from the one everyone else has used since the beginning of human language. I can't read minds, but I imagine you'd have a completely different tune if you or someone you loved were the one who was stalked, chased down, and gang beaten by an armed mob that was verbally announcing their intent to kill you. Thankfully, self-defense is still legal in this country.

Technically an acquittal does not prove innocence, only that the jury was not convinced beyond a reasonable doubt of guilt. Someone could still have done a crime even if they are found not guilty in a court of law. The system is designed under the theory that it is better to free many people that did the crime in order to keep one person out of prison that was innocent. I agree with that system.

By all accounts, Kyle was a
In other words, a vigilante. Sometimes vigilantes act in self-defense, see. And seeing how people define "justice" very differently, we could see vigilantes on both sides of a violent encounter. Maybe the guy just lost a Darwin Award contest between opposite but equally-misguided ideologically-charged specimen.

Your choice. It's certainly easier than trying to defend your "Biden is the worst human being ever" balanced assertion.[/QUOTE]

In relevance to this tread Kyle Rittenhouse was convicted by the media.
From what I read the evidence beyond any doubt pointed to self defense.
    Especially the video evidence.
In this whole situation there are no winners, there are two people who lost their lives.

It is also true that Kyle was a vigilante plain and simple despite your false assertions above. Look up the word vigilante if you don't believe me.

Bill, I know what vigilante is and I'm not sure this fully applies in this case.
Maybe the Kenosha vigilantes were the men who attacked Kyle Rittenhouse

Here is some info to consider:
In this case protesters, at least some of them were roaming the streets armed with guns and under the state law, Kyle was legally permitted to carry his weapon openly.
The question is when one is out protesting or counter-protesting, is it rightful to bring loaded weapons to protect yourself?
Don't we have a serious issue of who's defending themselves, when you've got two people with a gun?
Guns are a political issue in the US and our laws led to the highest rate of civilian firearm ownership in the world.
When we have armed guards protecting private property, they are under strict rules of engagement.
Why are people reserving to protect the property roaming the streets with guns? Don't we have police, or national guard?
Shouldn't this be the job of mayor and the police to protect the businesses and property from destruction by the "protesters".

In this whole situation there are no winners, there are two people who lost their lives.

According to info from the trial all three times Kyle Rittenhouse shot his gun in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on the night of Aug. 25, he was retreating from someone trying to assault him.
