Industrial Internet of Things Graduate Certificate
    Is what the advertisement states.

The Industrial Internet of Things Graduate Certificate (IIoT) is a top 5 ranked online electrical engineering graduate program.

IIoT is a deeper dive into Embedded Systems expounding on the enabling of countless human-to-machine and machine-to-machine applications including home automation, security and more.

Once I click on the link it turns out to be an Industrial Internet of Things MasterTrack® Certificate which is not exactly the same as CU Bolder Grad certificate.

I only used the "find" function, and I didn't see where they called it a graduate certificate. The courses are at the graduate level and can be applied to a CU master's program or potentially a master's program at another university that has decided to award transfer credits for MasterTrack certificates. Otherwise, this technically isn't an academic credential; it's a non-credit-bearing certificate.

With many Universities seeing these programs as profit/revenue generators and lead generators, I would be surprised if many traditional research universities even consider accepting them from other institutions as graduate transfer credit.

Isn’t this one of the programs CU offers that you enroll in 30 1 credit classes and get the MS? With this certificate being nine of the credits? Thus they might be properly transcripted no matter if the certificate is or not?

The MasterTrack programs usually are intended to be used within a degree program at the school that offers the MasterTrack courses. However, you'll see that some schools explicitly state that these are non-credit certificates, and you will not receive a transcript. These are only worth credit if you are admitted to the program, and admission is often not guaranteed.

At CU, it's kind of confusing. You must take for-credit courses to earn one of the graduate certificates. It's unclear whether for-credit courses are required for the MasterTrack certificates. The Power Electronics graduate certificate and Power Electronics MasterTrack certificate appear to be the same, but there's not an Internet of Things graduate certificate listed on Coursera or the CU website. I only see the MasterTrack certificate.

MIT has a small list of schools that will award credits for MIT's MicroMasters. Harvard Extension School awards credits for a couple of MIT MicroMaster programs. But, you're probably right. CU has different requirements for their for-credit and non-credit courses offered through Coursera.

Their Embedded Systems graduate certificate has the same curriculum as the Internet of Things MasterTrack certificate.

I received an email response from someone in the program.

Yes, they call it a graduate certificate, and it wasn't their intention for Coursera to label it as a MasterTrack certificate.

    So which one is this?

It's a graduate certificate. Just take the courses for credit, and you'll be fine.
