Them just continuing to pay their dues but not really participating in anything meaningful says to me that they were maintaining that relationship financially merely for an image boost and nothing more. That's not uncommon with many businesses of course, let's be real, but considering the very grey areas ASIC maneuvers in it brings about suspicion over why they were doing it and I think we all know the answer to that.

Ah, well, as I see it, ENQA deserves credit for taking action.

It also enabled ASIC accredited schools to make reference to that relationship on their websites, along the lines of "University of X is accredited by ASIC, an affiliate of ENQA, a member of the CHEA International Quality Group". Etc.

I started tracking Axact websites in 2005, and have been following ASIC since 2007, before they went international. From the very beginning, there were a bunch of interesting schools that managed to secure ASIC accreditation, like Cromwell College of IT and Management whose awarding body was a mill called Barbican University, and Concepts College, run by a Nigerian bloke who was apprehended by the Nigerian police for running illegal Concepts campuses in various Nigerian states. He was a graduate of a rather dodgy Russian school called International University of Fundamental Studies. Another IUFS graduate was chancellor of the ASIC accredited Trans-Atlantic College, and a member of the government of the Internet fraud called Dominion of Melchizedek.

Over the years, ASIC has accredited at least two Axact clones, Orlando University and South Asia University, plus a school invented by a former Axact vendor in Dubai. As I have mentioned before, ASIC has no remit outside the UK but there's nothing, legally, that prevents them from accrediting whatever they want to accredit. Which they did.

Is that the same Orlando University that applied for (and was denied) DEAC accreditation?

If you google this company address [11325 Lake Underhill Rd 102 Orlando, FL 32825], it will come as Dr. Xiao F. Li, MD. After researching the Florida Department of Health License verification website, I couldn't find any related medical license to this guy (He address himself as a medical doctor).

I think you might be mistaken: https://mqa-internet.doh.state.fl.us/MQASearchServices/HealthCareProviders/LicenseVerification?LicInd=61378&ProCde=1501&org=%20

He holds a valid medical license in Florida under license number ME70503, and hospital privileges at Orlando Regional Healthcare System.
