Popped up on my LinkedIn today. Low residency, "Complete your degree in as few as two years while continuing to work full time, thanks to a format that combines online coursework with two weekend on-campus residencies over the course of the program." 4 Concentrations: K-12 Leadership Higher Education Leadership Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Doctoral Completion (ABD Program) "Tuition is $998 per credit hour. The tuition cost for the 54-credit program is $53,892." Apparently they are historically known as a women's college.
Similar options can be had for cheaper at say, ACE.edu - I would do a search on this board and sister board for other providers as well. Comparison shopping is the craze now, get that ROI/Value from your "doctorate".
I'm not interested in an EdD myself so I mainly posted it here for documentary reasons, but I think the main barrier keeping people from ACE is that they don't participate in the federal student loan program.
University of the Cumberlands' tuition is in the same neighborhood as ACE. UC is non-profit, which may be a plus for some. However, others may not like its Christian worldview.
I thought Alverno College is one of the University of London or Oxford University's member colleges. Who is in the right mind paying $54K for an Ed.D. from a college that most people have never heard of it. Does UC's Ed.D. require a worldview?
This wasn't specific to the coursework. Maybe doctrinal position would have been a better term. Wikipedia has a "Controversy" section for UC. I avoided UC for the same reason I was avoiding Liberty. I got past that and would even attend UC. This may not be the same for everyone.
Whoops I didn't edit my last post. I meant to say, I wondered whether UC had a religious worldview that was part of the coursework. Most people earning doctorates are earning them at schools others haven't heard of. The US has thousands and thousands of schools.
No, their conservative Baptist worldview is not at all in the curriculum, and one need not share it to be in the program.
When Chris said, how come I have not seen in any of my coursework so far for the Ph.D. in Information Technology with Blockchain Technology specialization.
