By this time tomorrow, President Biden will have been in office for three hours. I wonder if he will have issued any orders about Trump's passport.

I don't think this will get that far.
He will go back doing business.

You're right. I only got into about 5 minutes and had to shut it down after hitting the limit on lies I was willing to listen to.

Reporting indicates that Trump won't pardon himself, his kids or law makers. Primarily because in a meeting on Saturday he was convinced that it would significantly increase the chance that more Republicans would vote guilty at the Senate impeachment trial. So the impeachment accomplished at least that! :D

Donald Trump has talked in recent days with his associates about forming a new political party - the Wall Street Journal reported tonight,
from people who know the details. Trump reportedly discussed the issue with several aides and people close to him last week,
saying he intends to call the new party the "Patriots Party." The White House declined to comment for publication.

Trump has argued with several prominent Republican leaders, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell,
who said Trump deserved accusations that he encouraged the deadly breakup of the Capitol on Jan. 6.
On the other hand, according to recently published polls, Trump appears to be maintaining strong support among Republican voters.

Interesting, I wonder why he would be thinking of creating a new political party? I can only think of two reasons. Maybe he's expecting more pushback from Republican lawmakers than we're seeing right now? Perhaps the more likely reason is that he thinks the Republican Senator's might be more concerned with a third party? Perhaps because even if they banned him from holding office again he could still hand pick someone to run against the Republican candidate in 2024 splitting the Republican vote. So kind of a you better not vote guilty or you're not getting the White House in 2024 threat?

This is loose situation eider way for the republicans. One one hand this may encourage some to pursue conviction in senate to prevent Trump from running in 2024.
But indeed he can be the chair of the party and propose a nominee on his behalf.
Some speculate that they maybe thinking about some role of CED (Chief Executive Director) introduced at some point (PM). This maybe a figure who will be presiding
in administrative role, taking the lead in fully implementing domestic and foreign policy as formulated by the President.

Trumpism is poisonous now with everyone but about 2/3 of registered Republicans. Trump's Base wasn't enough to get him reelected in 2020. It is even less sufficient now and if he makes any sort of political effort in the future all those images and tweets are there for the republishing by his opponents. No, he's done and the GOP has to figure out what's next.

What? If anyone creates a new party there is no proposing about it. The rules for a new Patriot party would simply be whatever Trump wanted them to be. It makes no sense to assert that they would need to go through any nomination process for a new party.

Anyway, I read an article that demonstrates what shallow human beings that Melania and Donald really are. The White House staff works very closely with the President and First Lady over the four or eight years and personal relationships are formed. The staff typically becomes friends with the President and First Lady. So, a tradition has grown up that the President and First Lady write thank you and goodbye notes to the White House staff. The staff will collect and cherish these notes as a memory and representation of those friendships that have been built. The Trumps had a White House staff person write and sign these little thank you and goodbye notes.

This is admittedly hearsay, but I met someone who works in the White House in a domestic capacity, and she said the staff all hate them anyway, so at least the feeling's mutual.

Historical day indeed, first in US history we have woman VP.
First in US history exiting President is not present on inauguration ceremony.
As Trump left the White House for final time this morning he said: ‘It’s not a long goodbye’.

And now, we can say for one final time . . .

You indeed whupped it this time around.
I heard this when my football team lost the super ball championship.
Only to come back in the future to win it.

    As to our country,
the direction of the country will be changed, in some areas I fear to much worse and I hope I'm wrong.
But as I said earlier there are issues in some areas that Dem's promote that I support. This is not black and white.
Time will show. Just keep the communists, marxists and nazis away from power.
At this moment I wish our new President and VP a success in uniting our country and pulling us out of the multiple crises we face. Time to reflect not necessary celebrate.
    God bless America.

Abraham Lincoln said in his First Inaugural Address that the people grant their leaders "but little power for mischief" and take that power back into their own hands at short intervals. So it is with the last four years. The country experimented with a dangerous form of populism and grievance based politics but the short interval came around.
