It's an interesting legal question whether an impeachment trial can continue past the end of the defendant's term in office. The reason it might is that a conviction can be a bar to future federal office holding. But I have never heard of such a thing so I really don't know.

Just to explain...impeachment of a President or Vice President is rare, Most officials who are impeached are federal judges. Since these individuals remain in office for life unless removed, the question of impeachment after a term in office doesn't arise.

But why are they asking to invoke 25th? President is not ill, he seems to be healthy?

If they're not going to rush, what's the point?

You've said this statement before. It was an impeachment for what was said on a phone call. Any crime that be committed by communication can be committed by a phone call, by a voicemail, by an email, by a memo, etc. Examples are asking someone to commit a crime, discussing committing a crime, threatening someone in a criminal way, etc.. The impeachment for a phone call line is just you existing in your web of lies. That is just Trump playing his poor me grievance, everyone picks on me, boohoo silliness.

There was no crime, it was political hunt.
Senate acquitted. And there was only Dem's left vote to Impeach it was partisan hit job.

Qanon is not so much a group as a loose unorganized community that discusses conspiracy theories (often conflicting) and generally are strong supporters of Donald Trump. They borrowed the pizzagate theories early in their formation. Many of their theories are really off the deep end of crazy. The article I pointed to gives a very detailed historical perspective. It is dated 2018 but the description of the community in 2018 hasn't changed much in the past couple years as far as I know.

Sorry, asking the president of Ukraine to find dirt on a political opponent is a crime.

You'll see. Trump will either pardon himself or have Pence pardon him before the 20th to cover his tracks.

All I have is an opinion. I'm not someone who has any influence or followers, blogs.

GOP suffered a serous setback, defeat but at times this is good as it generates regrowth.
This is not a mortal blow.
Serious issues at hand, health care, pandemic, unemployment and so many more.

I guess that Twitter doesn't support rebellion? At least that is what the rational by Twitter indicated.

Looks like a permanent communication breakdown between the rebel leader and his forces. What Twitter said is covered in an article.

    Quote:
"After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence," Twitter said.
"In the context of horrific events this week, we made it clear on Wednesday that additional violations of the Twitter Rules would potentially result in this very course of action."

The second indicated Trump did not plan to attend Joe Biden's inauguration.

"To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th."

Twitter said the tweet concerning inauguration could be viewed as a further statement that the election was not legitimate. It also said that the tweet could be interpreted as Trump saying that the inauguration would be a "safe" target for violence because he would not be attending.

Trump's other statement about American patriots suggested that "he plans to continue to support, empower, and shield those who believe he won the election," Twitter said.

Twitter's ban specifically addresses "the @realDonaldTrump account," not Trump personally.

Twitter will enforce its policy against ban evasions to ensure that Trump does not circumvent his personal account's suspension, the company told CNN.

"If it is clear that another account is being used for the purposes of evading a ban, it is also subject to suspension," Twitter said in a statement. "For government accounts, such as @POTUS and @WhiteHouse, we will not suspend those accounts but will take action to limit their use. However, these accounts will be transitioned over to the new administration in due course and will not be suspended by Twitter unless absolutely necessary to alleviate real-world harm."

Twitter's policy would also prohibit Trump from directing a third party to operate a Twitter account on his behalf.
Trump sought to test Twitter's ban evasion policy at roughly 8:30 pm ET Friday evening, when he or someone acting on his behalf published four tweets from the @POTUS account.

"As I have been saying for a long time, Twitter has gone further and further in banning free speech, and tonight, Twitter employees have coordinated with the Democrats and the Radical Left in removing my account from their platform, to silence me," Trump tweeted.
    The tweets disappeared almost instantly.

Per Rush Limbaugh Dem's are nervous that classified documents will be released.
Due to the momentum a major purge on social media is on the way, conservatives already reporting loosing thousands of subscribers. Labeling the conservatives as anarchists.
From what conservative media is reporting a major push of documents was posted , Wikileaks just dumped all of the files on line.
They report that posting of info about officials/persons who are a security risk due to China relations that should be denied security clearance and much more.
