On 09/11/2001, 40 people lost their lives after struggling against hijackers on United 93. The majority of experts believe that the US Capitol building was its most likely target.

On that day, 40 amazing people gave up their lives while protecting a major symbol of our freedom- specifically, the freedom to democratically elect our own representatives. On this day, hundreds of others strongarm themselves right into the same place in an effort to take that freedom away.

Unfortunate that violence takes place. Violence is condemned. Be it MLB or Antifa or Proud boys etc. Unacceptable.
While some accuse Antifa infiltrated and these are not Pro Trump people but impostors.
Others Say its pro Trump protesters.
Hope no people get hurt and police be safe as well. Emotions are running high.
People who came to protest truly believe in what they are doing.
They protest what they see as gross injustice.
Its their right to protest but not to reserve to violence.

When I see vets in different places, even stores passing one one other they acknowledge one another more so than I have seen before.
They are older but seem prouder and more firm then I have ever noticed.
They appeared pissed and ready to defend the America and it freedom.
Some of the images I see on TV from today's protests storming the capital are young in their 20s kids so to say. Some clear images of the people there so police can find them and the media as well.

Populist authoritarians often finally resort to violence.

If this was Antifa I wouldn't been surprised if the capitol building was on fire. I remember Antifa burning Portland OR not to long ago.
Some say we are Divided States as it appears, the values are different and the divide needs to be repaired ASAP.
But the lawlessness didn't start today!
Trump is right to call for peace. We need to unite and workout the differences in a civil way.

Rand Paul told NBC that he didn't think there will be any further objections to the electoral vote count. Maybe those Cruz type GOP Senators got scared straight.

There are also some 25th Amendment rumors circulating.

Their only home for the next few years should be a prison cell.

Which you know because... oh wait, you literally couldn't know something like that at this point. It's just a desperate MAGA talking point that you're uncritically repeating.

I wasn't there I was speculating based on early republican tweets, but now we know more. So no Antifa.
Some of the people who stormed the capitol planed it at least a day earlier.
As I mentioned I didn't rule out radicals from each side.
But the lady that was shot is Air force veteran of 14 years with 4 tours etc and Trump supporter..

It was more like Trump praising the mob in this tweet than telling them to go home.

"These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long. Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever!"

So Ted Cruz (and some others in the House and Senate) voted to stop the counting of Pennsylvania and Arizona electoral votes even AFTER the riot. Apparently Cruz still thinks that he needs support from the Trump Base if he wants to run for President. The depth of his cynicism is chilling.

OK, I seldom comment on US interior politics, but from a German point of view, I would like to say the following...

I's just sad. In my generation, the picture of the world as a whole that most share is that of a classroom. In which Germany was the top pupil, and the USA was the headmaster. We used to took up to the US!!

    Nowadays, not so much.

And that's losing something unique. US has the kind of idealism not found elsewhere; not in the EU, not in Canada. US influence has been dealt a blow yesterday. Damn you Trump enablers.

Any disappointment Germans have is on them for having misplaced expectations. The dark history of this country and the operations of our government (both past and present) is no secret.

Just understand that much like Germany in the 1920s/30s/40s, all it takes is for one madman to speak a language enough people are gullible enough to buy into, and the result can be chaos. Human nature being what it is, no country of people is really any different from another in that regard.

There is a large population of people who aren't very bright, who believe any and everything they're told by who they follow because they are followers, cult-like, and are ready to mobilize. This was just another example of many. More is coming, and not just from protestors/rioters but from people in suits, and bipartisan like it always has.

And you shared this because... you actually believe it? Or are you "just asking questions" or whatever?

Because I don't trust mainstream media to cover such allegations, because there were reports that CNN reported this storming happening before it started.
I'm suspicious that there is more to this so I share with the group.
This was terrible act and I condemn it.

Do you come up with nonsense yourself or is it just the bad places you search when looking for news that you want to believe?
