    Johann,

I was not mocking your memory; to reiterate (hold on, let me pull out my philosophy degree). It is not inconsistent to say a) there was some DE from UoT, some in Calgary took them, and that they were required for a specialty association, and B) generally, DE in Alberta consisted of Athabasca and Waterloo, and someone working in post-secondary may not be aware of the UoT classes but was aware of Athabasca and Waterloo. I would also note that my comment specifically noted a "degree completion" focus, whereas it appears your courses were for a specific professional credential.

man, old guys with good memories can be sensitive :)

Yep. Some say they're dangerous and should be "put away." :)

Another DL thingy from the Canadian Past ... don't laugh now... was on TV - "University of the Air." You couldn't get a degree, but you could learn stuff. Ran from 1966-83 IIRC.
17 years - a good run. I was a very sporadic viewer - it was on at 6 am. But it was interesting. Always.

Cool! Australia has their "Schools of the Air" where you actually can earn credentials in a distance learning environment, at least up to the high school level.

That's a good thing - especially with the vast distances of the Outback. Australia has a lot of good educational ideas - like their TAFE system. Really good!
TAFE - Technical And Further Education. Sample here: https://www.tafensw.edu.au/

I am not going to laugh. We had similar stuff in Germany (Telekolleg), and the name was similarly laughable.
The rest, not. You could use these series to prepare yourself for an upper secondary school diploma.

TAFE has been absolutely gutted over the past two decades, progressively, by governments on both the left and right. It's a shell of what it should (and could) be.

Australia has some good ideas here and there . . . it's the execution that leaves something to be desired.

Had a look at their Masters offerings. The MEd looks good, and that price cannot be beat. Adding this to the list.

    Johann,

There is a guy out on the Island (Vancouver, not NFLD) who has a side gig helping people move to Canada. Very legit. You might be able to assist more people utilizing his network... I don't know, just a thought. Anyway, ping me if you are interested and I will forward the contact.

You're not Gavin Crawford, by a long shot, Greg. You've proven that several times, lately. I'm ignoring that comment. And any further ones. Done with you.

Johann, I hope the dementia has not set in yet.

This is the guy, some people need help in navigating the Canadian post-secondary landscape... you may be able to help.

This is coming off as a bit tone-deaf. Insult-as-joke is falling flat but you keep dipping into the same well.

    Dustin,

Humor is subjective, even in Canada, but if we put that aside. Johann clearly has a depth of experience in Canadian education / credentials and Paul is helping people move to Canada... not an irrational “match making”. I don’t know Johann and only have had a brief conversation with Paul.

Maybe they can collaborate and help others out. Ideally, this is what we should try and doing this site...IMO

I could write a moral dissertation on what you term tone deaf but will remain silent...lest I am accused of being tone deaf
