Rejoice because the people getting the jobs are not less deserving than the ones losing them, and the ones losing them usually have better alternatives than the ones gaining them.

Rejoice because just about any other source of energy is better than fossil fuels over the long term. I vote for nuclear power, but I don't think the green new dealers like that one very much either.

It varies. Some of them realize it's the only option to go carbon neutral in any sort of reasonable timeframe. Others just want to believe that solar and wind can do that job faster than is reasonably possible.

Strangely, I have realized that consuming much less energy is an option that seldom comes in one's mind during this discussion.

I've made considerable progress on that front, over the years. I must confess, however - it saves me almost ZERO dollars. Around 85% of my electric bill is charges that are invariable regardless of any use. If I shut off electricity entirely, these charges would remain the same - basically for having the lines in place and people to maintain them, etc. Comparatively little is for electricity use.

The joys of itemized billing. I have to think I'm being a good boy for non-monetary reasons.

Yeah, and exactly for that reason, saving the earth will likely fail...

Yes, it will. I don't think I'll still be here when that happens -- complete disintegration is a while off, I'd think. YMMV.

They've never stopped. About 15% of job loss is due to off-shoring and trade. That's it. And it's inevitable. Unless, of course, you want kids in the U.S. earning a dollar a day making soccer balls or shirts for Nike instead of going to school.

The other 85% is due to technology. This is where unskilled MAGA-hats should focus and worry about. This is what threatens them. And guess what? That's inevitable, too.

I remember the days when each item in the supermarket had to be marked with a price sticker. A guy spent his day setting the hand-held-price-sticker-maker and putting them on cans, bottles, etc. And if there was a price change? More stickers! What does that guy do now? Certainly not that. Barcode technology made that job go away. Now the same technology is threatening cashiers. There will soon be a time when you can go into a store, select your items, pay for them, and leave--all without encountering a human. (Nor will one be available for your encounter.) But what about cashiers, stock clerks, courtesy desk clerks, etc.? Gone.

The days of routinely exchanging your unskilled labor and loyalty for a good, middle-class living are gone, folks. Those uneducated, unskilled Trump supporters? They have a reason for all that fear they display. But they're unable to parse it all and focus it on the real culprits. So they vote for those same people instead.

The economy of the future will not have places for these people. What will they do?

The Earth will be fine. It will survive and recover beautifully. It is the humans that will die.

    Reality.

Democrats were six months ahead of us in setting up these systems, and they run the electoral apparatus in these particular precincts where all this stuff happened. So it has to be investigated. It has to be discovered what happened.

The fact is that the president strengthen the party and he grew the party of the working people.
And now we need to carry on, whether or not he survives this ambush that happened to him.

“‘When you side with a man, you stay with him. If you can’t do that, you’re like some animal. You’re finished. We’re finished, all of us.'”
If you haven’t seen The Wild Bunch, you really ought to watch it.
