Yeah. I understand. Johann, there is a reason there is a nice looking duck where others have a pic... A very good reason.

I LIKE that duck! He's got style! A CEO-canard, for sure.

Hey, thanks! Hope this duck represents me quite well. I see myself as - mostly - nice, I am good in math/statistics and management and I am a businessman.
However, in real life, I look like a cliche of a skinhead, being obese and beefy, bald and looking mostly quite annoyed.

Might be indeed. At least one person got a job from the course, I see. Probably quite a few. I notice they teach installation of Windows 10 plus back versions - 8.1, 7, Vista, XP. As long as they teach people NOT to go on the Internet these days with the old versions --- VERY bad Mojo! And people also have to know not to install old OS versions on brand-new machines. Nobody writes drivers for old OS to work with newest hardware. You install an old OS and suddenly your brand new sound card won't work etc....

Old OS for old machines - new for new. Here endeth the first lesson.

I have Ubuntu Linux on my 2018 laptop, Windows XP on my 2004 desktop and DR-DOS 3.22 on a floppy, for my 1988 Sharp PC-4600 laptop. Weighs a ton, but still works.... runs Visi-Calc (1986) just fine.

Wow. In 1988 I was moving from the Atari 8-bit series towards getting an Amiga. I don't still have the machine, although I understand there are Amiga aficionados who do.

In 1988, I wasn't even old enough to play video games, but the 80s is, and always will be, my favorite decade in gaming. I'm pretty sure my avatar gives that away

Older people get the same symptoms. I was closing in on 40 when I took my first programming courses, around 1982: COBOL on a DEC mini-computer (about freezer-size) and BASIC on a Commodore PET. Shortly afterward I bought a Timex Sinclair and then a Commodore 64 and continued, learning very bad BASIC habits on those. These days, I have bad habits in half a dozen languages. I like to do graphics-oriented stuff.

Have you considered a motorcycle? A really big one? Might be a good look for you! :)

I drive a big cycle. Without the motor. A freight bicycle. A good one, as the thing pictured here. May not be as cool as the things other people drive around with, but its carbon footprint is unbeatable. See:

That's a great-looking bike. Practical and as cool as it gets, I say. Congrats - terrific choice!

The provider is interesting. They offer an array of self-paced professional development certificates, similar to ed2go but without all of the university partnerships that ed2go has. At one point University at Buffalo offered a mini-MBA in conjunction with CIB, but I see no evidence that that program is still active.

The courses are affordable. The educative quality and professional utility remain to be seen, but these certificates certainly won't be winning anyone over...

A dozen cold, Reinheitsgebot (1516) compliant beers in front - and another dozen in back. It doesn't get any better - or any more German, than that! Just don't start drinking them before you get them home! Prosit! :)

"In München steht ein Hofbräuhaus: Eins, zwei, g'suffa!
Da läuft so manches Fäßchen aus:
    Eins, zwei, g'suffa!
Da hat so mancher brave Mann:
    Eins, zwei, g'suffa!"

    ...und so weiter.

There is a site where you can make certificates, and there is a very short guide how to do it. So: This is a certificate course in the sense that you will be able to make your own certificates after this; and hopefully better looking ones!!

There's also a site where you can make your own degrees - but I think I'd get banned for linking to it.

A certificate course in certificate making... So, a certificate²-course?

Oh, that certificate will come in handy when I open my incorporated school in a foreign country that offers a MFA in Certificate Making
