Coping strategy with a rejection

Run up a credit card balance, pay high interest and the minimum payment and it'll take something like 41 (or possibly 47) years to pay it off - with no further purchases. It's the new(er) slavery. I know. I worked in that business for 30 years - still regretting the misery I helped cause. Like working in an arms factory. You know exactly what you're doing.

 

They declined my negotiation for a decrease on the tuition but stated that I would be able to enroll in the future and the only other option would be to pay in full for an additional 20% discount so I will not be attending this cohort.

 

I'm coming at this blind so I apologize if you've mentioned this elsewhere but have you considered a WGU MBA? $4500 per 6-month term. One year seems to be typical, which would still put it at $9K. RA and fairly well-known (things Quantic are not.)

 

I've been looking into WGU's programs but have not decided what I want to study there. The Quantic program was something that was mentioned here on another thread and it seemed interesting so I applied since they offered a free MBA. Come to find out, I already had more than enough work experience so I was put into the paid EMBA. A less than 20% discount/scholarship was not enough for me to bite it considering the lack of RA accreditation and name recognition you mentioned.

 

I decided to apply too, just to see what the process was like. If I don't get in I won't be crushed but I definitely think I'll complete an MBA in the future, alongside an MPA or MPP for more applied policy/non-profit skills.
