There's one I really like, but The Universal Life Church has a lock on it. Doctor of the Universe. About $100. That's a pretty good price-point.

I remember having a conversation with a guy and he said "I have a Doctorate". He pulled out his ULC Doctoral Diploma CARD. The guy was so articulate and spoke intelligently, and that card just took the air out of the whole conversation. I just wanted to tell him that thing was bogus, but the man was around 52, and I figured if he didn't know better by now why crush his delusion, lol.

I have to ask, what was his "doctorate" in?

I'm aware of the following from ULC , so I'm thinking it has to be one of these:

    Doctor of the Universe
    Doctor of Metaphysics
    Doctor of Divinity.

There's also a Master's in Wicca. For under $10 you can be certified as a Jedi Knight. Pretty good value there. :) Think of it: "Sir Messdiener," for $8.99!

For these and many other products to raise clerical standing (or the illusion of same) have a look at the ULC website. I'm not doing their SEO for them, but it's easy to find.

There's also (or was) a Doctor of Philosophy in Religion degree available at ULC. I think that's all their Doctorates accounted for.

    Whoops! More:

    Doctor of Religious Humanities
    Doctor of Christian Studies
    Doctor of Religious Science
    Doctor of Universal Life

There.. that's gotta be it. I did hear something on a forum about a Doctor of Christian Ethics degree but didn't see it in the catalog. Maybe ethics is on sabbatical here ... I dunno.

Not sure, but I've heard the certificate may be signed by both George Lucas and Darth Vader! :)

(Gasp!) Five more Doctorates - these from the ULC Seminary site, which is separate.

    Doctor of Spiritual Development
    Doctor of Spiritual Awareness
    Doctor of Biblical Egyptology
    Doctor of Christian Studies
Doctor of Spirituality - Miracle of Prayer

And yes - I found the "lost" Doctor of Christian Ethics degree here. There is an amazing collection of Bachelors and Masters in everything from Sufism to Buddhism, Wiccan Studies, Paganism, etc. etc.

I prefer Mississippi / Louisiana Hoodoo studies myself. ULC doesn't seem to deal with this, but I can find Internet sites in every swamp and bayou - plus the Hill Country north of the Mississippi Delta. Mojos, Gri-Gris, Goofer Dust... Root Doctoring ...All the good stuff! :)

I want to say Divinity. I only gave it a quick scan but saw the school name and knew it was junk immediately.

It sure was! I prefer this guy's message:

"Born in Mississippi in the dust of a cotton patch
Raised up by a rattlesnake and that's a natural fact
And now you know I'm full grown, got a monkey paw in my hand
I got a black spider ball in my pocket, I'm a Mississippi Hoo Doo Man…"

What are you LOLing about? I've liked Omar Dykes since the 80s. I said I preferred Hoodoo over ULC - and "Mississippi Hoodoo Man" is one of his best.
If you want to diss Omar - I hope he puts a big fat Hoodoo spell on you. :D

I was going to use Junior Wells' excellent "Hoodoo Man Blues" but this one is more to the point.

    Thanks! From Merriam-Webster.com:

"Zanies have been theatrical buffoons since the heyday of the Italian commedia dell’arte, which introduced those knavish clowns. The Italian zanni was a stock servant character, often an intelligent and proud valet with abundant common sense, a love of practical jokes, and a tendency to be quarrelsome, cowardly, envious, vindictive, and treacherous. Zanni, the Italian name for the character, comes from a dialect nickname for Giovanni, the Italian form of John. The character quickly spread throughout European theater circles, inspiring such familiar characters as Pierrot and Harlequin, and by the late 1500s an anglicized version of the noun "zany" was introduced to English-speaking audiences by no less a playwright than William Shakespeare (in Loveas Labouras Lost)."

If you hadn't said that -- I'd never have known. I owe you big-time. :) So, Zany=Zanni=John. My real name. :) I know I have (more than) a slight tendency to be vain - but yes, I think I fit the profile. Quarrelsome, vindictive, treacherous -- yeah, I'm all that.

PS. You want lessons from a Hoodoo Lady who knows her stuff? https://www.luckymojo.com/blues.html Cat Yronwode's luckymojo.com site has hundreds of pages - really!

I meant on the definition of being amusingly unconventional and idiosyncratic, lol. I didn't know about the information you posted myself, so yeah, that's another example ;)
