Sounds like the kind of stuff that the Russian troll farm Internet Research Agency would be pushing?

One problem here is that "our way of life" is one of those inkblot tests that's designed to stir up an emotional response despite not really meaning much of anything.

This nation and its people will never see true revolution because they believe in the fairy tale that simply mailing a piece of paper or pulling a lever will bring about a revolution to a system that is more complex, powerful, influential, secret, indifferent to the common man, and corrupt, than the publicly paraded operations they do as theatre in front of the masses, and also because the people can't let go of the childish WWE bad guys vs. good guys narrative for two seconds and see the glaring bad being performed by both sides and turn its attention against this united cabal that is robbing us blind. Then there is the refusal to see or acknowledge any bad committed by the side they've chosen even when the evidence is undeniable and irrefutable. It's sad to watch many otherwise intelligent people reduced to idiocy and lose their integrity all for the protection of a political party and a candidate they've decided to ride or die with.

But, no matter, because in 4 years everyone who voted and stayed loyal to the candidate who won will forget or deny (like they do every 4 years) that things have only gotten worse since the guy they worshipped was selected, the rest will scream for a new savior who will also repeat the same, similar, or worse actions, and then 4 years after that, and so on and so forth, and the same fighting over the same issues that haven't improved much if at all since the countless other past elections will continue ad infinitum.

Man! This much optimism in one post is killing me! And so it goes, over and over again...

Suggested background: For this theme, Perhaps Rod Bernard, "This Should Go On Forever" (Till the End of Time) - from 1959. I remember it well - I was 16 and I think Rod was the first Louisiana singer I had ever heard. He was a vital force in Cajun and Swamp-pop music for about 60 years. Rod was musically active until 2015 and died in July of this year. He was 79. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rod_Bernard

I think we need to protect the constitution.
One example - Elizabeth Warren put it, “I plan to be the last American president to be elected by the Electoral College.”
This is to bypass the constitution, as it is hard to pass an amendment.

I simply asked you to more thoroughly explain your comment. Whether you do or not is strictly up to you, of course.

I get it, and there's a lot of truth to it. But sometimes the two sides really are different. Democracy vs. fascism, for example. Or the Cold War. Or the Vietnam War. Some things go beyond the "Yay, team" stage.

The second was Slim Harpo in 1961, with "Rainin' In my Heart." Rushed right out and bought a harmonica.... that song still moves me, almost 60 years later.

Biden may enforce the Obama administration’s radical AFFH (Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing) regulation to the hilt.
That is exactly what Biden promises to do. By itself, that would be more than enough to end America’s suburbs as we’ve known them.

And some don't, e.g the Church-approved practice-run before the First Crusade - an expedition to kill all the Jews in the Rhineland --- and all the Crusades themselves, originally designed by a French Pope as a way to distract the nobility of his country from warfare against each other by providing a "Common Enemy" in the Holy Land. And the slaughter of around a million Cathars in France. And today's treatment of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar/Burma and China's Uighur camps. It never stops...

Is that a bad thing to you, Lerner? I hope not. I remember how disgusted I was in the 60s when I first heard an American (came as an Italian immigrant to US, actually) remark that the presence of Blacks "always destroyed property values."

Here, my son and his wife have a really nice house - great neighborhood in the 'burbs. Houses all built about 12-13 years ago - they had theirs built - brand new. Their neighbors up and down the street are every color and shade that human beings customarily come in. Everybody gets along fine. Property prices go up and up. What the hell is wrong with that?

These regulations are not what they appear, it's the same as Obama promised you can keep your doctor with ACA.
So it's not the idea, that is on high level appears the right thing to do. I'm for not having housing discrimination.
There is a sinister part to it so I am pleased that President Trump and Secretary Carson have together put an end
to the Obama-Biden administration’s wildly radical Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) rule.
The Democrats don’t want to talk about what is actually in Obama’s AFFH.
Government control - It isn’t about preventing housing discrimination. Obama-Biden’s AFFH is about telling Americans where—and how—to live.
    Liberty is at stake.
In general Democrats what the government to run peoples lives.
I think a balanced approach is needed. Free markets and less government in peoples lives.

Americans have been telling each other where and how to live for ages. When (the future) Pres. Reagan and his first wife bought a building lot, they were compelled to sign a form promising NEVER to sell the property to people of color. That apparently was not an uncommon practice in "nicer" areas. I can remember in the early 80s a Black family moved into a prev. all-white area in Chicago. Neighbours were waving guns and throwing stuff. They had to move and sell the house they'd just bought - for their own safety. You have no idea how sickening that looks to outsiders. We're not perfect here in race relations by a long shot, YET but we're oh - maybe a hundred-plus years past that... at least on average.

This silly mantra you relate about AFFH is fear-mongering by people who want to preserve the status quo re: discrimination. Not surprised you can't see it. Many Americans don't want to be told how to live, yet they do it to others whenever they feel the urge.

Or, as Frank Zappa put it, "Government is the Entertainment division of the military-industrial complex."

I wanted to see if we had any common ground before I get into specifics, otherwise it would be a waste.

I've served my country for more than 30 years now. I both vehemently disagree and see exactly where he was coming from.
