The Colegio Chicano del Pueblo is offering free courses that can be turned into credit via the PLA process at Prescott College. Link: https://shoutout.wix.com/so/f1NJnSySa#/main
This is for their own people - MeXicanos 2070. They say so. The program is a very good thing indeed. Pero no para el resto de nosotros. (But not for the rest of us.) And I'm fine with that.
What they say on their site is that all inquiries are welcome. But either way, to do the deal with Prescott mean enrolling at Prescott. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it doesn't help people who are already going somewhere else, or who plans to do so for good reason. I wonder whether CCP would consider ACE evaluation for their courses to make them a bit more broadly transferrable?
What they say on the site, Steve - several times - is that Prescott College will do this, that and the other for applicants from MeXicanos 2070. And I think that's why the originating school is called Colegio del Pueblo Chicano. College of the Chicano People. Pretty plain to me. But I have nothing against anyone's having a try, if they want to...
They do that - and give the courses free and take people outside their own community - they'll have every free-cheap-credit-hunter in the country overwhelming a program that I think was designed to help a specific group. Might fold the program entirely.
