You should ask these questions your comrades at the Democrat party. They are the obstacle, not Trump. If you prefer to keep ACA you can have an insurance card with thousands of $$$ deductible and almost no coverage. The blue wave was a result of 2 years of Attacking President Trump with a smear campaign, a destructive Mueller investigation, and fake Impeachment.
Dem's harass President Trump in their effort to overthrow the government.

Maybe you should have read past the first sentence. Most of this has nothing to do with Democrats.

One remark on the ACA: what I WANT is my OHIP back. It's "for all" and colloquially called "Medicare".
I know a small business owner who saved a bunch of money thanks to the ACA, and a divorced mother of 2 who was able to get insurance for the first time. The fact that your team of grotesque goons want to deny them service just so Mnuchins of the world can get even more rich off their misery IS the real reason for the Blue Wave. People can get convinced to vote for soulless goons only so many times.

The ACA was a gigantic subsidy for health insurance corporations. That's why their stock prices went up the day it was passed.

Anyway, you can go back to uncritically cheering for your team and booing the other team now.

    Bill,
Did you listen to the Playboy reporter question?
“Win, lose, or draw in this election, will you commit here today for transferal of power after the election?"
"THE PRESIDENT: We’re gonna have to say what happens. You know that I’ve been complaining very strongly about the ballots, and the ballots are a disaster. Get rid of the ballots and you’ll have a very peaceful… There won’t be a transfer, frankly. There will be a continuation. The ballots are out of control. You know it, and you know who know it better than anybody else? The Democrats know it better than anybody else."

    "
He did it again. He didn’t commit to a peaceful transference of power because he didn’t commit to possibly losing. He’s not gonna give them what they want. They’re repeating everything. The purpose of this question, “Will you commit to a peaceful transferal of power…?” If Trump had said, “Well, of course, absolutely,” the headlines would say, “Trump acknowledging polling data!

“Expects to lose and says, ‘No sweat,’ he’ll leave when the time comes.” They wanted that story. They wanted that headline. Trump knows what he’s up against, and he knows who he is up against here, and he’s not gonna give them what they want. He’s already made it clear that he doesn’t expect to lose. I mean, this question is absolutely insulting."

“I don’t expect to lose,” and he actually said that in his own words. He said, “There isn’t gonna be a transfer of power. There’s gonna be a continuation of power.” So they’re all atwitter now. They’re all beside them so they can’t believe it."

He went on to suggest if it weren’t for mail-in ballots and voter fraud, there wouldn’t be any transition ’cause he’s gonna win!

...and the alternative is - what? I don't think Bernie actually knows how to do M4A in the real life, in this country.

Team cheering metaphor works if two teams are comparable. If one team is flawed and another one wants to get rid of the pesky peaceful transfer of power thing, they're not playing the same game.

There should be a balance I agree but for each story like that, there are 100 horror stories about ACA, families simply not having the $$$$ to pay the deductibles and other medical bills that ACA didn't cover.

  9. Stanislav

    Stanislav Well-Known Member

No, actually, *I* don't know anyone with these horror stories. Premiums and deductibles skyrocketed for DECADES; under ACA, the growth is actually slower somewhat (not sure now when Trump crippled it). ACA did NOT solve the problem for the nation, not nearly enough - this is not the reason to take away healthcare from those whom it DID help.

Faith in the democratic institutions is what separates this country from Russia. With you, Trump ALREADY succeeded in undermining the very foundations of this great nation. Seriously, I won't be surprised he already secretly have "Za Zaslugi pered Otechestvom" Order, Grade 1. Or simply "Hero of Russia"; that's being given away like candy nowadays.

There is only one answer to question like this, because it amounts to "will you follow the Constitution". "Of course I will, it's in the Constitution".

Also, please tell me how a bloke who's down 8% in all the polls can only lose due to fraud.. Please.

    Are you that nieve?

Even the most conniving leaders of the old Soviet Union would have been impressed with the brazenness of the Obama administration’s disinformation campaign to cover up its botched attempt to hijack America’s 2016 presidential elections.
Joseph Stalin would be proud of the complete and comprehensive use (and abuse) of intelligence and law enforcement tools to spy and undermine political enemies.
Illegally spying on American citizens who were part of the Trump campaign.

    Talking about Democratic institutions:
Neither political party can be permitted to subordinate the powerful national security, law enforcement, and intelligence tools to the objectives or efforts of either political party.
Sadly, the damage to our democracy is extensive.
For years, voters were told that the White House was hiding the truth and that Donald Trump would eventually be impeached for his conduct. Just like the Soviet show trials of Leon Trotskiy, the Democrats staged partisan hearings in Congress that already had a predetermined verdict, then expected people to consider them the final word.

But not a single investigation found any evidence of collusion with Moscow whatsoever — including the one conducted by the man in Washington whom liberals revered above all others, former Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Of course, President Trump knew that the real scandal was very different — and much worse — than the narrative being spun by the biased mainstream media.
The New York Times did everything it could to discredit the newly-inaugurated president’s remarks, scoffing that there was “no evidence” to substantiate his allegations.

Now, the American people have all the evidence we need to see that Donald Trump was right all along — the Obama administration abused its power to launch hostile investigations against its foremost political opponent, then invented a fantastical conspiracy theory to distract the public from the truth.
Democrats got away with their Soviet-style campaign to undermine the results of the 2016 election.

Welp...I'm about done with this thread. September is grinding to a close and people will be voting next week all over the country so we will soon see which man will reside in the White House. I have carefully not stated a preference for myself since that wasn't the point. For the last time, though, I think we will not see any real change in either the House, the Senate or the White House. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Actually possible that fewer people will vote next week.
Dems are realizing that mail-in ballots have a lot of rejections due to missing addresses and other technicalities.
They have been pushing everything but in-person voting.
The Democrats all of a sudden are saying: You know, this mail in stuff, there’s too many things that can go wrong.
The ballots could get lost like the ones we found in the ditch in Wisconsin. The mail-in ballots could be rejected on a “technicality,” might be undercounted, could change the outcome of the election. Got to vote in person!
But today 9 24 2020 they are changing the tune.
in Colorado, former Gov. John Hickenlooper, who’s running against Sen. Cory Gardner, told Axios that he’s encouraging voters to physically take their mail-in ballots to a dropbox and to do so ‘early, really early.'” So the pandemic is over? It’s safe to vote in person now on Election Day, and the Democrats are “pivoting”?
Democrats have been urging their voters to vote by mail, and because their voters think it is an opportunity to game the system!

Democrats are switching away from that as of today, September 24th, because of higher ballot rejection rates, because Trump’s gonna sue left and right.
They could be undercounted. Why, it could really change the outcome of the election.”
Democrats have figured that mail-in ballots gonna hurt ’em. When just last week, last week mail-in ballots were the ticket.

I sincerely thank you for spelling this out! You have scratched my curiosity itch.

I'll leave it at this. I note that you did not address the seemingly obvious fact that Trump is the only one that has been caught cheating in this election. Although being "caught" may be a bit misleading since he's doing it blatantly and out in the open! Note that it is a felony according to North Carolina law to vote twice or to encourage anyone to vote twice in a North Carolina election. It is called voter fraud.

As usual - Taken out of context.
Trump does not condone double voting or any unlawful voting.

Here's What Pres. Trump Actually Said About Mail-In Voting

"President Trump said that voters should "send it in and let them go vote and if their system is as good as they say it is then obviously they won't be able to vote. If it isn't tabulated they'll be able to vote." He said he doesn't like the idea of "unsolicited votes," speaking about what's known as universal mail-in voting, where states send out ballots to all registered voters, whether or not they requested them."

Bill, It appears that you are listening, reading, and watching very biased to the left media, that majority of the time distorts and twists the truth.
Maybe balancing it with other sources?

Media reporting is hurting because of the internet, their bottom line $$$ is suffering so they are really depended on their sponsors.

I can remember a Province-wide beer strike about 30 years ago. Supply ran out quickly and neither individuals nor bars could buy Canadian beer for several weeks. Some awfully glum faces around tables of Pabst, Schlitz, Budweiser etc. It was 'orrible, I tell ya -- 'orrible.

I get most of my news from BBC (online), CBS (to get local news), and CNN (online mostly). I occasionally watch Fox News mostly to see what Trump is watching. I also watch a favorite MSNBC show a few days a week. My wife is a life long Republican, although we rarely discuss politics. Not sure where you get your news from but Fox News has become nothing more than a propaganda arm of the Trump administration in the last couple of years. It seems clear to me that you get most all your news from within the following options,
    Trump's twitter feed
    Social Media (for example Facebook)
Right wing talk radio shows like Rush Limbaugh
Fox News and/or other "less reputable" online sites like Breitbart, ONAN, etc

    Actually pretty balanced sources.
    minus the:
MSNBC is # 1 in bashing, criticizing President Trump, with CNN is basically Sponsors (Dem's) propaganda arm, it's like Anti-Fox news.
Sometimes I don't know who controls whom, MSNBC, CNN etc controls Dem's or both ways? Left and right arms of the same body.
I watch it a little bit just to get what left media is plotting and as I practice to hear both sides.
Rarely I see and hear balanced views.

People all over the world have a stake in US domestic politics. We're part of a much bigger system; what happens here affects almost everyone.

Canadians more than anyone else. I read once that some 80% of Canadians live within 50 miles of the US. If not entirely accurate, the point is clear: we're more one thing than we are two.

I can't stand beer. Nor coffee. I've had two cans of beer in my life--both at the Heineken Museum in Amsterdam. (I've never had a cup of coffee.)

Whenever we're out, sometimes my wife will order a beer and I'll order wine. More often than not, the beer gets put in front of me.
