Why the amateur league that is Canadian government has COVID mortality rate so much lower than America? Why would the doofus not wear a mask? Where's his response to Russian bounties? What is American foreign policy response to Hong Cong, Belarus, Navalny poisoning? What does Bill Barr think about Breonna Taylor murder? Where's the infrastructure plan the orange man promised for years? What's done to protect the elections from foreign influence?

Russian influence was both real and likely decided the election. WikiLeaks emails dropped the evening of the "grab her..." video resurfacing.

Don't need to attack the woman candidate (their jurisprudence is fair play, though). It's enough to point out Moscow Mitch's hypocrisy, and the fact that they 1) openly hoping to install a friendly Court in time to steal the election and 2) are actively trying to overturn the ACA, including pre-existing conditions mandate. In time of the pandemic.

You and I are not rich enough to count as real people to the GOP Randian mainstream, let alone the psychopath in the White House.

PS: Top Democrats, without fail, mention ObamaCare and pre-existing conditions every time they discuss the Supreme Court power grab. Good. It is precisely the issue that gave us 2018 Blue Wave. Go Biden/Harris!

Let me dumb it down for you: We're neighbours - in case you never learned geography. What goes on there is naturally of interest to us. Your country has a lot of money invested in Canada, trade agreements etc. and wields great influence outside its borders. What goes on there affects us here. And we're entitled to comment on it - including comments about what I/we don't like.

At least twice lately, when I've tried to talk to some Americans, instead of their First Amendment rights, I get handed something like the 19th - Prohibition.

Maybe because it isn't just about domestic politics. It's about politics in a world closely connected to each other.
And for this reason, I will be affected by this vote, no matter about the outcome, too - even if I am not an US citizen.

Heck, most people on this globe will be affected in one the other way.

It pretty clearly wasn't meant to be taken literally, so presumably it was just an expression of hatred meant to generate a similar emotional response in those he was targeting. And yes, I'm sorry to say that he succeeded with me. I'm angry.

It in that respect it's ironic that Trump is the first US President in living memory to say that he's the president of the United States, not the world. His first priority is what's in the interest of the United States and its people, as opposed to straightening out the whole planet and remaking it in our image (whether they want to be remade or not).

Obviously foreigners can and do have opinions on US politics. And they are welcome to express those opinions. (I can't stop them.) I have lots of opinions about Canada and the EU too.

But I do wish that they would say something intelligent about the issues at hand, rather than just hurling idiotic insults at Americans whose politics they don't like. That just drives threads off topic and muddies the emotional waters.

And I'd also like to say, Stanislav was right on two counts. Our Government is (largely) an amateur show - albeit a humane and fairly beneficent one at heart. How they managed to get things as right as possible on COVID-19 I have no idea - but they DID and I'm grateful for it. It's extremely sad that the disease first took a "lightning raid" on nursing homes - but that's been a field that has lacked close-enough scrutiny in many areas for a long time. I hope that will change drastically as a result.

Our climate makes us skilled at "slogging" and that's what we do. We get through...

My post was largely a remark about repeating a lie so often it gets accepted as truth - supported by a quote from an acknowledged expert in the evil art of mass deception.
