I read the GAQM site, Mac. (Or do I call you Mr. Ambassador, since you're a diplomat now?) :) Perhaps Stephen Michael, the poster with a formidable degree portfolio and much expertise in the subject of this particular university - will post here and tell us what it all means.

GAQM is an ASIC 'member institution', not accredited, but in the directory. At one point in time, GAQM was also accredited by the IAO, the International Accreditation Organization - an Axact invention and the proud accreditor of Bircham International University, West Coast University Panama (which is interesting because the founder of WCU was one of Axact's competitors in Karachi in the late 90s), Pebble Hills University, Ballsbridge University, Axact universities like Midtown University and Kinsale University, Newton Hills University, Eton University. And so on.

Here's IAO's preliminary accreditation report for GAQM, https://www.iao.org/schools-accreditation/india-andhra-pradesh/gaqm/

It seems GAQM got a fairly decent Preliminary Points Profile Score. I hope this pleased management at GAQM's headquarters in Andhra Pradesh.

Regarding GAQM: They partner now with the "American International Theism University" who were mentioned in another thread. Does not make them more recommendable, I think.

Yes. IIRC, this school claims religious exemption and consequently restricts its degree offerings to "Ethereal" degrees - "Ethereal" Business Management, "Ethereal" Spiritual Counselling etc. Perhaps the Diplomas are "Ethereal" too - or evanescent / effervescent, perhaps. Who knows? Don't think they accept "Ethereal" money, though - but you might send them some and try... :)

Or maybe send some Ethereum cryptocurrency. Yeah - they might go for that ... IF they can figure it out. :)
https://ethereum.org/en/ (for info purposes - not an ad or endorsement. It does not refer to a "bad school" or any illegal product/service so I didn't disguise the URL. )

    Hello!

I think the name "Etheral Master of Business Administration" is totally lame anyway. If someone would offer - with a side glance on Michael Moorcock - a "ETERNAL MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION", yeah, well, maybe then, but the offering from GAQM is simply not bada$$ enough.

    Best regards,

Some of the GAQM work-related certifications look fine to me. It's the degree connections that are problematic. GAQM hasn't clarified whether the degrees that they grant are the same as Charisma's ACBSP-accredited degrees. Some of them have the exact same titles.

I wondered that, too. Several month ago, I asked Charisma University directly - they told me that NO [capital letters] entity would offer any part of their degree programs. Well...

I think the "ethereal" addition is an attempt to sneak an essentially secular degree under the wire of religious exemption. It's been known to backfire before, e.g. MBA in Church Management, etc. Most US jurisdictions with religious exemption (from accreditation requirements) won't tolerate this. But somebody will have to complain to them...

Michael Moorcock? Yes, my son introduced me to his books - some 38 years ago, when he (my son) was 11 or 12. Imaginative - good storytelling and atmosphere creation. A bada$$ author indeed.

The Breyer State guys at American International Theism University take a different position.

4 Downe Road in Mitcham (Greater London) is the address of GAQM's Accreditation Department, a department with three bedrooms, one bathroom, two reception rooms and a garden shed.

Being a businessman who does cost cutting regularly, I can say that appreciate this. No frills, no unnecessary expenses, all focused on delivering high quality education! :)

I have studied the GAQM pages in detail - and referred to the Charisma MBA materialcontained therein, Tadj. As you did, I found the GAQM material difficult to interpret. I have taken my best stab at it. I could be wrong - and if I am, I'd welcome a post from the magnificently-credentialed Charisma spokesperson, Stephen Michael - or anyone else, for that matter. I'm sure any misunderstandings can be responded to. No need to sue.

I think the basic MBA program works this way.

    (1) You take 3 modules (i.e. Certificate programs, total 120 hours learning time, per GAQM) from GAQM, pass 3 exams, get 3 certificates. Cost is about $610 including 3 exams.
    (2) The three certificates are Business Management Professional, Business Process Manager, Certified Business Analyst Foundation
    (3) Pass the 3 certificates and you earn 9 credits out of 60 (I think) towards your MBA.
    (4) Next step: Those 9 advance credits entitle you to pay $2,400 for Charisma, as far as I can tell, to teach / examine the rest of your courses. 51 credits, as far as I know. (60 is one year per UK standards.)
    (5) On successful completion of all credits, you are then awarded a Charisma University MBA degree. GAQM awards 3 certificates - Charisma awards the degree.

This is my understanding only - neither a recommendation nor a disapproval. I know Charisma people read this site regularly - so if I am wrong and they wish to clarify - they can easily get whomever they like to tell us if this is not the way it works.

Addition, here: On the GAQM site, Charisma entry requirements are clearly detailed. If you want their MBA program, you have to have a Bachelor's OR a combination of sufficient education background, (e.g College Diploma) and a specified amount of suitable work experience. You don't get automatic acceptance for the GAQM certificates alone.

Just so those folks don't think I forgot that part.

Another thing that makes this difficult to understand. One one page (GAQM) the contents of the 3 certificates are said to be 85 hours total of learning and a total of 9 credits. All this for $675 including exam fees. That's plain enough, so far.

Yet, on the "MBA via Charisma page," the entire degree program is offered for $2400. I assumed that was for 51 credits taken through Charisma. Yet the GAQM page shows the same certificate courses, plus only two additional stand-alone courses, to comprise the entire degree program. Now the total cost is $2400 "for e-course and exams." Instead of 9 credits - two more courses (not modules) (45 hours total) are added and the MBA program now costs not $675 for 9 credits, but $2,400 for all 60 credits. Or so I read it.

It thus becomes unclear on the GAQM page (to me anyway) whether Charisma itself does or does not teach any credits for which the degree is awarded. Or if they do, what courses and credits these are. Perhaps GAQM or someone very familiar with Charisma could elucidate. Is GAQM confined to teaching 9 credits for $675 or do they (optionally) teach all 60 by e-course for $2400. Or does Charisma teach the major portion? And are we correct in assuming the degree is from Charisma - or is this possibly a co-award, or validation of some type?

Somebody out there can tell us, I'm sure.

In further news, I managed to find a copy of Charisma's ACQUIN institutional accreditation certificate - dated Mar. 24, 2020, signed by Acquin's Chairman of the Board.
Here it is: https://charisma.edu.eu/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/ACQUIN-Certification.pdf Still, I could not find the school on Acquin's site. Been 7 months now - Acquin web-master should update more frequently, I guess...

More. GAQM's Facebook page indicates a relationship with Charisma that goes back to 2014, when Charisma was ASIC-accredited. I also found this announcement from GAQM dated 2017:

    https://www.educationonline.online/charisma-university-and-global-association-for-quality-managements-masters-of-business-administration-in-business-management/

A quote: "You will be asked to attend online session given both by the GAQM and the Charisma University before you sit for their qualifying exams."
The document still does not help me understand which portion of this degree is taught by GAQM and which is taught (and, presumably, assignments etc. marked and examinations given) by Charisma. Perhaps I'm just too thick to attend this University...
