They claim to have bestowed close to a million of mba degrees upon students. They have no admission requirements.
Their degrees themselves are written in poor google translate English.

They charge 597$ for an MBA and claim you can complete it in a few hours of time.
    Isn't this hilarious?
Also notice how they bitch about the competition.

Do people really have the nerve to list this on their resume as an MBA?

    Haha.
But when you look the founder of this '' institute '' up on LinkedIn you find that lots of people from development countries are listing this as an MBA credential on their resume. I think they truly think it's an MBA because lots of people who took it are congratulating each other for it and telling each other how hard work paid off. Seriously, 597$ is still too much for such a worthless credential.
I hope they didn't pay the full price.

Who in their right mind believes you can complete an MBA in mere hours?

Yeah, I'm hoping those alerts when people purchase this are fake and not real purchasers but if people are putting it on LinkedIn, they must be getting at least a few bites. Despicable.

I remember looking at this European company before, they offered so many different programs in addition to the MBA options and each and everyone of them were just $25. They've bumped up their pricing for the majority of their programs it's now $49, $99 and the MBA was much much cheaper at $199 (still worthless though). I would go the ENEB route instead of this...

Hey! This yahoo earned two MBAs, show some respect! After evaluation his institution acknowledges the knowledge and outstanding competence of their student.

Omg. I swear, I would have more respect for a decent looking Axact '' degree '' than one of the MBA
    '' institute ''.
This dude paid 1194$ for two worthless virtual certificates.
    How dumb can someone be?

I came across that one last year :)
While it's a ridiculous thing to get a degree without doing anything, did you know that France does something similar in a legal way? They offer the VAE. Basically applicants have to prove life experience and it is converted into a degree if they pass a successful interview.
That guy in the article may have thought it was a similar concept he was looking at when making his purchase.

    Old news at DI.

We held the public stoning of Mr. Sniedzins (his name means "snow" in Latvian) THREE YEARS AGO.
Is this new thread the funeral pyre?

Yes. Been discussed here for quite a while. VAE is short for validation des acquis de l'expérience. It isn't used as often as some might think for degrees though. More often for vocational qualifications e.g. Jean-Marc has been working in a bakery since he was 14 - he's 28 now and wants a credential as a baker. A jury of qualified people is picked - Jean-Marc gets to fire up the fournil and demonstrate his skills. The jury knows what to ask and what the answers should be. Jean-Marc has the right answers, demonstrates the required skills, he gets his credential as a baker. Everybody gets free buns and goes home happy. Or something like that.

It IS, as you say, used in universities and can result in part- or full credit for a degree - right up to doctorates, so I've been told. But the bulk of the situations are vocational.

Caution: It is reserved for legitimate French schools and VAE testing is always done IN PERSON. There are a couple of unrecognized schools that offer VAE by distance. Run if you hear that. The degree-looking paper you get is worth NOTHING. One of these schools is located on Dominica - what there is of the school, that is - with a fax machine in Paris. There is another "school" -the owner lives in France, but the VAE by distance is not valid. The degrees of the school are not state-recognized.

Don't buy VAE in the Caribbean. Get a good bottle of rum instead. It'll be SO good -- and cheaper, too.

Here's the French Government site on VAE: http://www.vae.gouv.fr/
Remember: It's a FRENCH thing -100%. Not done anywhere else AFAIK. And it has to be done IN PERSON.

I will have the rum please.
    And a good Mojito.
    Now I'm thirsty.

The Dominica school is that Concordia school where a psychologist got sued for calling herself a psychotherapist and saying she believed she was entitled to that degree. Am I right?

VAE came to my attention after reading about it in a French forum once.
I would never get a VAE myself though. My cookie baking skills are not that good haha.

A diploma mill is like a wingman in a singles bar. It's there to back up your story. It does so using things like an internet presence, fake transcripts, fake diplomas, fake letters of recommendation, fake awards, (sometimes) a number people can call to "verify" the degree, etc.

But it works only as long as the wingman stays in place. Lose that and you're flying solo, no different than someone who printed up those things by him/herself.

Oh, and it's wrong. Don't forget that part. Tick....tick....tick....

That and the wingman in the singles bar always returns home without a date.

No. we have a thread on it. It was something incorporated in Roseau, Dominica that went by the name Université multiculturelle internationale"

Never heard of it. But then, it's almost as easy to incorporate in Dominica as it is in Delaware, and that's all we're talking about here.
