Yes - I saw an announcement, from either McKinley or the Parent Corp. Weston Distance Learning about a week ago. Students will finish their courses through U.S. Career Institute - same ownership, same accreditation (DEAC) and a similar lineup of degrees. Looks like rationalization - not enough students enrolled to support two schools, I guess. At least nobody should be left out in the cold. I think McKinley had a nicer name but the degrees etc. are pretty much the same. Associate degrees only, IIRC.

I agree on the name. It's not a bad one, it just sounds more like a non-collegiate vocational training school.

Yes - the name "US Career Institute" hardly makes one think of degrees - unless one knows, of course. "McKinley College," on the other hand, conjures up an image of the small-but-leafy campus of an exclusive Liberal Arts school - fit for the trust-fund descendants of deceased Presidents - assassinated or otherwise. Solely in my hyperactive imagination, I'm sure.

Those names conjure up those respective images with me too. I guess they had some other reason to go the way they did.

Yes - "Career Institute" sounds like grads would land jobs. "McKinley College" sounds like some grads might not need jobs. :)
