It seems Cal U of PA is in the habit of hiring faculty with unaccredited degrees. How did this man gain admission to AMU with an unaccredited undergrad degree? https://www.calu.edu/inside/faculty-staff/profiles/hans-mumm.aspx Full professor with an unaccredited Ph.D. https://www.calu.edu/inside/faculty-staff/profiles/linda-pina.aspx I haven't gone through their entire faculty directory but maybe I should. Could there be more like these two?
Possibly. However, I don't know of AMU accepting students based on their work experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Maybe at one point they did, but their website nor catalog suggests that this is possible.
Chadwick University is unaccredited. Hence, I raised the issue about his acceptance to an RA graduate program.
I remember it. Chadwick never had CHEA or USDOE-recognized accreditation and closed some years ago after Alabama stopped licensing unaccredited schools. It was at one time "accredited" by the late Dr. Maxine Asher's WAUC. (World Association of Universities and Colleges). Dr. Asher (her degrees were real) was a very colorful person who spent much of her life researching the "lost continent" Atlantis. She wrote several books. At one point, Dr. Asher and an associate claimed to have discovered Atlantis off the coast of Spain. I believe that claim was debunked. She also owned an unaccredited University and that "Accreditor" WAUC. There should be quite a few threads on DI. All you need to know about Chadwick is here. Lloyd Clayton founded it, among other schools. Agent Wiki has it in his files: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lloyd_Clayton_Jr.
That's classified, probably. With his military intelligence career and CIA record - I guess maybe we're not supposed to ask, Chris. He's on our side. That's all we know.
What universities usually say in this case is: Person does not require a Ph.D to teach what he/she does and was not hired because of it. Then the contentious doctorate vanishes from the page and all goes back to peace and tranquillity. In this case, the person has legit RN status and an accredited Master's in nursing. That should, I imagine, be sufficient qualification to teach what it says she does. I imagine if anybody whose opinion the Uni. cares about objects to the doctorate - it will simply disappear, like many others. Just my guess.
It is not unusual for someone to be admitted to an accredited grad school without ANY degree. And a holder of a degree from an unaccredited school could certainly pursue admission as well. The admissions process is not as dogmatic as you assume. There have always been examples of people with doctorates from unaccredited schools holding positions in traditional academia. In other words, exceptions happen.
"Chadwick University had also gained accreditation by the World Association of Universities and Colleges in 1994. Unfortunately the U.S. Department Education would not recognize either the IAUS or WAUC." http://chadwickuniversity.org/acc.htm The U.S. Department of Education wouldn't recognize two completely bogus accreditors? SHOCKED...
It certainly differs from program to program. Most require a bachelors degree in the US. I’ve personally never seen a US grad school not require a bachelors degree but I’ve also never actively sought them out.
Chadwick never had the stones to go all the way and add BOUA accreditation to complete the unholy trinity of fake ass accreditors. Wimps.
I assume AMU accepted him at the time AMU was accredited DETC, so the standard was lower than the current SACS.
Why is that assumption necessary? RA schools can accept people who hold an unaccredited degree--or no degree at all. Also, I don't know of any evidence that supports the assumption that admissions to (DEAC) schools was/is easier, or that AMU changed their admissions standards as an RA school. I'm sorry to seem argumentative, but your statement is loaded with assumptions that don't seem to hold.
