Filmaker2b, Rich can occassionally get on my nerves when he is both smug and wrong (we probably all can get on nerves). Frankly, you come across as overly sensitive. Your issue with Rich seems to be that he is saying things you don't want to hear. He is making valid points (may or may not ultimately turn out to be correct). Really, that process of back and forth and questioning is how we develop insight. Learning to respond non defensively is a skill that will help you grow as a person.

Nah. Y'all go right on harrassing each other. It's fun to watch. You don't even need me here - you do quite well trashing each other.

Seriously, it's like watching a bunch of prima donnas. Or is it primas donna? Or just pompous buffoons? Yep, I like the last version. For each and every one of you.

But, for the sake of entertainment, here's an appropriate selection from Phantom Of the Opera . . .

It's actually prime donne, Steve. But for English speakers not familiar with Italian, your first choice will do fine. Everybody knows what you mean. :)

I'm not overly sensitive. Rich Douglas followed me around DI insulting me a few weeks ago. I did nothing to provoke him. He thought I was new because I didn't have a lot of posts, so he targeted me. I stood up for myself and a couple of other people did also. Since that died down I have simply skipped over any posts that he's made. Unfortunately, he can't do the same with me. I've already very politely told him not to address me anymore, but I guess he's decided that he has the right to harass me. That last post I made to him was the culmination of everything that's been happening.

I have the right not to be harassed.

How am I harassing him when he's the one posting to me? What am I supposed to do when I'm trying to avoid someone and they deliberately interact with me? After what happened a few weeks ago I've been avoiding him and at first he was avoiding me too (either that or he wasn't on the forum). But, now he's targeting me again. So what am I supposed to do?

I have enough problems with entitled white men in real life. I don't come here to get into it with anybody. But, I also won't allow myself to be disrespected. So, I just realized what I have to do. Y'all can have it. I'm done. There's not enough information to be had here that justifies staying in a hostile environment. So, I guess it's mission accomplished for Rich Douglas. I'm gone.

I hate to disappoint you by revealing that you're not special, FM2B, but Rich targets everyone. Besides I've targeted him for some 20 years now, and he's finally beginning to learn his lesson - people who target others are best ignored.
Hmmmmm . . . you were doing so well until you played the race card (and, for that matter, the gender card in the same sentence). Not even Rich has done that.

But I know what you mean - I've had problems with entitled white men as well. But some of them have been hot enough in bed that I let them slide.
I know . . . I should put in a link to Aretha Franklin singing "R-E-S-P-E-C-T." But in light of your closing, I have something more appropriate, in this case King George from Hamilton - the only "entitled white man" in the show:

I let that second one go by, when it happened - but I thought about what might have happened if I'd ever written "How black of you," or "How Jewish of you," etc. to anyone. I think I'd have been (rightly) booted off the forum long ago. A guy once called me "white trash" on DI. Mods escorted him out pretty fast.

    There. Done, now. Feel better.

Is a prime donne anything like a prime number? Or maybe a prime rib? Or do you have to prime the pump a bit on cold mornings to get her to sing?

I much prefer the last option, Nosborne. What nicer way to start the day? :) But sadly, it's just (as you likely knew, you rascal :) ) the (Italian) feminine plural of primo/prima meaning "first." You know Spanish - it's just like "primero / primera," except that the Spanish word takes "s" in the plural. The English word "prime" comes from the same Latin source, primus/prima/primum. As in Prime Minister, and yes, prime numbers. From Google:

"Why are they called "prime" numbers? They're "prime" in the sense that they "come first", in that we can get all of the others (composite numbers) by combining them through multiplication."

OK School's out. You can all go play, now.

And yes -- prime rib, too. Our beloved Rabbi Wiki (thanks Nosborne) states:
"A standing rib roast, also known as prime rib, is a cut of beef from the primal rib, one of the nine primal cuts of beef." You're 3 for 3. Scholarship material!
Ever considered enrolling at Die Freie Universität von Johann? :)
