Singapore Business School offers MBA for $490.00. Their accreditation list seems to be bogus as well. Does anybody know anything about this school?

    "
SBS gives 83% scholarship until May 22, 2020.

MBA degree for 490 USD (instead of 2,990 USD)."

This is an old trick - they are members of this business education society - but they are calling membership accreditation. It is certainly not accreditation, especially in the sense that we use the word here - and I think they probably know that.

They are members of the Asian society, and calling membership accreditation. They also show an accreditation certificate from the American Association of Business Education. I got one hit on Google - from the SBS site itself. Outside of this school, I could find no record of the um.. accreditor. Are we done here? I think so.

Then again, any school with a testimonial from the late musical celebrity JAMES BROWN could be this papa's brand-new bag, any day! Oops, wrong James Brown!
$490, no bachelor's required, four months and you graduate, fictitious accreditor and above all, the wrong James Brown! Kill me now! "Please, Please, Please," as the "hardest-working man in show business" might have said.

    "Unh!"

Why - I don't know, but I finished up by checking the two accreditation certs from The International Association of Business Schools and The Asian Business education Certification Body. Both were one-hit wonders on Google - don't appear to exist outside of this school. (Lots of places described as international associations of B-schools, e.g. AACSB - but none with that name.)

    Can I log off, now?

Interesting finds...I looked at their sample course, it seems a bunch of ex-pat traveling to Asia and decided to open an Internet business college. All the instructors look like they are all in the 20's. This reminds me of all the FAKE GURU out there on Social media and YouTube.

I dunno. The English on the site was decidedly Asian-flavoured, peppered with a couple of Americanisms that were inappropriate in that place - e.g. "wanna enrol now," or similar. Singapore is -in general- a good place for business education - a lot of sharp, success-oriented people, most of whom speak English properly..
The Westerners shown were probably all models doing stock photo work , likely from US or UK.

And I'm sure most of those Western models have never been to Asia in their lives. Photos shot in London, NY or Spider Breath, Montana and bought from a stock agency by locals running this place in a back room in Singapore.

Having traveled to and within Montana for the past 25 years, I truly hoped I would learn more about this Spider Breath. But alas....

There's always Eight Mile Saddle, Free Deal, and our local haunt up there, Happy's Inn. (Really, Happy's Inn is a place, not just a convenience store with some cabins.)

Sorry to disappoint, Rich. As you no doubt realize, Spider Breath is fictional. Perhaps my imagination was spurred by the semi-delirium of the current lockdown- which is a little easier to endure now. For the first time in 27 years online, I have internet at home - and a Linux laptop, the best computer I've ever had.

Anyway, I'm glad you have happy memories of Montana. Great place, from all I've heard and read. Years ago, I had friends from Alberta. Like most Canadians, they lived less than 75 miles from the US border and Montana was their favourite destination.

My wife grew up there, born in Kalispell and raised in Libby. It's two states, really. There's the mountainous western section that contains the Continental Divide. Then there's the prairies on the west, which look more like the Dakotas they border. My experience is exclusively in the former. We own a small house on a lake up there, but we're selling it. We just can't get up there enough to use it properly. It's in escrow and closes in a few weeks. We're going up there one more time before closing to say goodbye to it.

    Hello!

Nice discussion here: https://find-mba.com/board/general-forum/singapore-business-school-sbs-fake-fraud-phony-bogus-mba-degree-64023. One quote reads: "Man, are you serious? You express yourself toxicly and unreasonably accuse someone. As proofs, you throw off links, where at one place an "expert" claims that James Brown is only a singer (yeah, a person who thinks that this name is unique, naturally undertands the issue),and in another place people simply say that they haven't heard anything about the school (also not something extraordinary)."

    Caused some mirth here!!

    Best regards,
    Mac Juli

A generic name like Singapore business school had to be a bogus.
Insead and NUS are the go to over there.
Not surprising that Asia has many degree mills.
After all it's a poor region in development.

Guilty, your Honor! But really, Mac, this person seems confused. I don't think I'm the one who doesn't understand the issue here. I made the remark here at DI after I saw a Singapore Business School ad. An endorsement from a fictional (?) former student named James Brown appeared -and I couldn't resist a joke "Well, if the Godfather of Soul says it's good - it's gotta be good! .... oh, wrong James Brown -- shucks! "

Hey, I think it's in this thread somewhere -- yeah it is. You can see for yourself and decide who doesn't understand the issue. I'm pretty sure this person doesn't understand the late Mr. Brown's art very well. ....I'll be a fan forever. ...Unh! :)

Singapore? South Korea? Japan? Poorly-developed regions? C'mon! That doesn't make sense. ... You can look them up on your Chinese-made computer! :)

They used to be super poor.
Most of their population are still poor and living under the minimum wage.
In China the vast majority of people who do not have college degrees, rent an apartment together and are often crammed with 20 in one room.
    Japan the same.

Yes, the countries themselves are developed but the people themselves are mostly still poor.
Also bad hygiene, poor eating habits ( dogs, cats, bats).

So yes, the countries themselves are developed. The population not much.

    I can't respond to the above. No -- I just can't. Wow!

It was all displayed in a documentary last summer.
    Can show you the link.
People over there were crammed in a room with 20 people.
    The living conditions were awful.
    You want the link?

If your goal is to test this forum's tolerance for casual racism, you've reached the end of it. Move on to a different topic.

    Wasn't racism.
That's just what was displayed in the documentary.
I wasn't making a statement or something. Just describing what I saw in the documentary...
