9 years both active and reservist. Oh no! I started out as 01, but I was with First Marine Regiment. Then I moved to the reservist as 08. I attempted OCS for Infantry Officer, but I was disenrolled 3 weeks before graduation. Then I left the service...

I really don't care about the branding around these MOOCs or any Executive Education. I am just curious if Eller Executive Education (which someone states rank #5 in the U.S.) delivers all of their programs on the same standard. I was thinking to walk away with some good knowledge or at least some motivation. However, what i walked away with was merely a couple of LinkedIn connections. Anyhow, this is my personal stance.

Branding and credentialing from top universities is the reason to go there. You can get a high-quality education at a lot of different places, however, the brand is everything.

I would not care about branding if a degree from Harvard University is treating the same as the degree from Aspen University. But yes, branding is everything included in real life.

There is also a phenomenon I refer to as the "gaudy resume add on."

Works like this, you have a bachelors from UPhoenix. You have an MBA from American InterContinental University. The education section of your resume has those two degrees as well as some non-credit cert from Harvard Business School.

I mean, it's good. But you've created a pretty vast expanse on your resume. You have two extremes and it draws attention in not a good way. If you get a BS from UPhoenix and then get into Harvard Business and walk away with an MBA, hey, cool. That MBA will probably carry the day. But a certificate from a super prestigious school on top of a degree from a very not prestigious school can make it look like you're overcompensating and not doing a very good job of it, either.

A B.S. from Colorado Technical University and a certificate from Colorado State University, on the other hand, paints a different resume narrative. It's just something to keep in mind when stacking certificates. I had a training program that HBS did in coordination with the Navy some years ago really blow up in my face when I first got out of the Navy. I put it on my resume. I clearly disclosed that it was a leadership training seminar. And, when faced with an interviewer who had an actual ivy league degree, he felt this was an attempt to claim an alumni status to which I was not entitled. I strongly suspect he might have treated it differently had the same program been offered in partnership with, say, Gonzaga.

This is the reason why I stay away from Harvard University Extension School for ALM in Finance. which meets my criteria "CHEAP and GOOD." I read a lot of online posts and publications stating that if putting "Harvard University" for HES school in the resume is misleading. Some alumni even threats HES should not be recognized as Harvard.

Florida International University and the University of Arizona's Executive Education certificates are the steal deal. Otherwise, I would not pay $2,000.00 for FIU and $6,000 at the University of Arizona. I am just exhausted to have so many IT certificates that require continuous updating. Just keep strong two to three advanced IT certifications and the rest from executive and professional education certificates.

The third one is the Flordia Atlantic University Executive Education certificate is the biggest steal deal. It was FREE to all who signed up not $899. I am halfway through it now.

I have met two Harvard HES grads and both impressive. HES does walk at graduation with all the snot-nosed kids also.

Harvard University says that HES is one of the constituent schools of Harvard University, just like Harvard College and Harvard Business School. Case closed.

FAU stopped at 80,000. I have yet to see any Higher Ed this generous during COVID-19. Who knows Mabey they will reopen this again?

The Certificate Program in Hospitality and Tourism is at full capacity.

Speaking about "constituent"; I have met people who earned their degrees at King's College and University College London do not consider themselves as University of London alumni.
