It is the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, I assume it is another version of CPA Organization from the UK.

ACCA is Association of Certified Chartered Accountants, a recognized accountancy body in UK (they have several, roughly legally equivalent).
ACCA is very popular outside of UK, especially in Asia. Students have the opportunity to top up the qualification (earned by series of exams) and get two degrees - a BSc from Oxford Brookes University and MSc in Applied Accountancy from University of London; the combination is quite cost-effective. I've completed their pathway to the Master's degree, waiting for University of London to actually come around conferring it. Not easy, but cheaper than most American alternatives.

PS: my understanding is, you get diplomas by passing ACCA exams (proctored), and this MOOC prepares for one or two of these. I do have their "Diplomas" - you get Student membership, pass exams, and then complete a module in ethics and professionalism (free). After passing all "Foundational" papers, one can register for BSc at Oxford Brookes; this requires a substantial "research project" that they would grade, and the rest of the degree is satisfied by ACCA exams. Then after passing 2 more "Professional" exams, you can sign up for London Master's (getting BSc from OBU is not required for that). There may have been minor changes to format of the exams. Exams are fairly tough, especially past first few.

Thanks for your reply. How did you do that? and how long did it take?
If I complete the ACCA Coursera course, do I get an opportunity to get BSc from Oxford Brookes University and Master's degree from University of London?
I want to know more about the path way. How much did it cost for you? also, is the top up degree completely online?

    Hello!

Why exactly aren't you sure? If it fits your career planning, or if it is good value for your money and time? - For the latter point, I would like to cite the programme description: "Learners who earn a Finance MicroMasters program credential may apply to the MIT Sloan Master of Finance Program, and upon acceptance, would be credited 42 academic units. It will allow the students to waive the summer term in residence.". Well, the eq. to 42 units for $2025 doesn't seem too bad...

    Best regards,
    Mac Juli

I am not sure because I am not in the finance field. Eighteen years ago, I wish I started off as a financial analyst. Sometimes, I want to switch to finance, but at 36 years old with two little kids as a full-time single parent, I cannot sacrifice to start over as a junior financial analyst. My goal to learn as much as possible in finance and start my own investment company. At the moment I have no capital. My best friend is currently a financial analyst in the investment banking for Deutsche Bank, he says the lifestyle is definitely not for me because it requires to work at least 80 hours per week. With this kind of lifestyle, I will not have time for my kids.

I do not plan to get a Master's in finance because it is hard to make a career move, but an MBA might serve me better in my future. I just applied to Imperial College London's Global MBA, and I hope I will get in. I plan to study Finance as a concentration.

I applied Financial Aid and it's approved, so I only pay 10%. I take the MicroMaster in Statistics and Data Science.
