It is normal now, I deal with CVs all the time because I work with students for career development and advise and most people take certificates online from MIT, Europe, etc. It will raise eyebrows only if you have no traditional education but only degrees from online places. It is perfectly valid if you hold at least one degree from a local school and then have a section in your CV that you can call "Continuing education" and put there all your EDx, Coursera, ENEB, etc degrees and certificates.

I know people that work in coaching and natural medicine, they never went to a formal school and most of their education comes from online sources and practice as coaches or natural medicine practitioners. The customer is not going question that their education came from ENEB, coursera, etc, they only go with them by referrals and reputation.

I have been lurking around this forum for about 4 years. So, I would like to introduce myself formally. . . HELLO :) This Groupon degree really intrigued me so I took the bait and signed up for the Masters in Digital Marketing and eCommerce. I have a BA from the University of Illinois (Chicago), MBA from WGU and I am completing my DBA at Liberty (thanks to some GREAT advice I received on this site! Thank you). I was able to "transfer" in 5 out of 11 courses. Last week I completed all the quizzes for the remaining 6 classes and I plan to complete final projects on a weekly basis. . . and with that, I will be done. So, if this is a legit degree, you can work it to have another Masters in 7-8 weeks. I hope this helps!

Welcome! That's interesting, I didn't read anything on their site about transfer credit. How does that work?

    Thank you, Steve!
The transfer process was really simple. Once I confirmed my voucher with the school. I had WGU and Liberty send my transcripts to the Academic Department ([email protected]). They indicated in an email correspondence that I had the ability to transfer up to 40% of the coursework. This was odd to me since, with 11 courses, you could never be at 40%. . . . either 35% or 45%. . . but whatever. . . :) They reviewed my transcripts and sent me an email letting me know which courses I was exempted from. When I logged onto the portal, the following courses are now listed as completed. . .
    • Strategic Management
    • International Accounting
    • Financial Management
    • Marketing
    • Executive Coaching
Most of these courses were completed at WGU. I believe only the Executive Coaching credit came from my DBA. So, if you have an MBA already, this might be a seamless path to another degree.

Congratulations! ENEB is a good option to add a new specialty to your education for little money. Thanks for sharing this positive experience.

Congratulations! It's such good news to hear that. Then ENEB is a valid degree. I am lucky for taking the bet with another one propio degree.

Almost the same here. Currently, I am doing my MBA in Austria via distance learning (74 ECTS out of 90); was able to transfer 5 out of 11 modules hassle-free.
So, it works even if you would want to switch programmes or get an 2nd degree!

Thanks for sharing. In Europe, education is free in most countries, the idea of expensive education is mainly an American idea. In Germany, you even get paid to study.

    Well...

You can get a loan called BAFÖG, but a huge amount must usually be paid back; and BAFÖG is usually not enough that you can focus on your studies. But yes, your first studies are usually free or almost free.

Could you please provide some details of this particular MBA Program in Austria?

That's great! It seems to me now that if you already have a minimum of an undergraduate and preferably a graduate degree in any field, you have nothing to lose and something to gain by doing the ENEB / Universidad Isabel I program. I have still been looking at the deals on Groupon advertising the single and dual Masters on a weekly basis as well as following this forum and the degreeforum.net about this program. I'm thinking about taking this course as even at my local school with 90% tuition discount, I would be paying more still and $300 wouldn't even cover one graduate hour without this discount. From what I understand now about the official and proprio degrees is that official will be universally accepted but the proprio while limited in how it is recognized will still grant you graduate credit through a foreign evaluator rather the degree is formally recognized or not. This is still great to add as a specialty, enhance your resume, and possibly teach business and/or technology courses at the college level as it meets the minimum 18 graduate hour requirement. I have a Masters in Education and doing one of these ENEB programs would meet that requirement through a foreign evaluation rather it is gets recognized as equivalent to a Masters or not.

    Hello!

It ist't offered any more with the curriculum I started with, but is still available with a slightly changed curruculum here: https://www.donau-uni.ac.at/de/studium/general-management-fernstudium.html. To avoid misunderstandings: I transferred credits from this program to ENEB!

    Best regards,

Because the price was so low I bought a Groupon code and registered for the MBA + the master in big data.

They were very quick to provide me my login and they were quick to answer my questions.
The course material is in pdf and looks very decent.
I'm impressed for such little money, have to give them credits for that.

    Kind regards,
    Vincent

    Vincent,

In another thread you asked about Thomas Francis and accreditation. As you are interested in Metaphysics, parapsychology, etc, I wanted to share the info below:

The institution below offer diplomas in the subject that lead to UK recognized ofqual accredited qualification. I took a class before there with groupon for 40 CAD and got a level 3 qualification.

You can check the school below, they do have ufology and cryptzoology among other courses.

    https://www.centreofexcellence.com/shop/psychic-development-courses/

I believe you wanted to study parapsychology counselling. The closest thing is Transpersonal Psychology and some UK Universities offer it.

Thomas Francis is a religious unaccredited school, in the US churches are allowed to grant degrees but these are not meant for professional use but only internal qualifications for clergy. Many schools abuse the religious status and grant PhDs to those people that like yourself, are interested in professional fields such as traspersonal counselling. The degrees are legal in the US but will not transfer outside the US as legit PhDs.

I believe the school above is good for the price, you can still get a qualification that you can display but they are not degrees. In the UK and Canada, most people practicing as NLP, hypnotherapy, transpersonal, psychospiritual, etc do not practice with degrees but training from private schools and then register with a naturotherapist association for insurance purposes.
I completed a spiritual therapeutic qualification in Canada from a local school, it lead to a certificate not a degree. Some people register as a psychotherapist with it but more training and experience is required.
If you are interested in becoming a therapist, I think distance learning is not the best because you lack of practical experience. A good source of schools in the subject below:

I don't think this is accurate.

Churches don't award degrees. Some are set up to run degree-granting schools and, subsequently, those schools can be exempt from licensing (in some states, but not in others).

Ironically, the degree itself can be legal (because of the religious school's exemption), but using it can be illegal. This situation varies tremendously from state to state, both in terms of in which state the school operates AND in which state one uses the degree.

Thanks for correcting me. Yes, schools set up by a church grant degrees. The issue here is that Victor was interested in an accredited PhD in parapsychology, cryptozoology and was thinking that Thomas Francis PhDs were meant to prepare people to make them experts in these fields. Cryptozoology is an interesting subject but I doubt there is any legit degree around in this area. These PhDs are not much different in terms of content and effort than certificates and diplomas offered by some online schools.

The school that I suggested has the subjects he is interested but are only diplomas and not degrees but have some UK recognition at level 3 (CC college level) and not PhD. This is more realistic for a subject like parapsychology and cryptozoology at reasonable prices.

I checked, in Canada there is nothing that prevents you from using an unaccredited degree in a Business Card. Many people become accredited counsellors or psychotherapist with a masters degree than get a PhD in Metaphysical Pyschology or Parapsychology to claim a Psychology PhD. You cannot call your self psychologist with the PhD in Parapsychology or Metaphysical Psychology but someone can advertise (John Smith PhD, Registered Psychotherapist), assuming that he is a registered psychoterapyst.

I'm in it. Just enrolled this week. I thought it was going to be some surface level content but once I'm in the Virtual Campus I surprised myself how impressed I was with the extensive and challenging content. A lot of time has been dedicated to structure the content it's definitely more saturated that the average MOOC course. In fact I'm a bit terrified by it now. I like how there is a large community of learners in there now and everyone is helping each other out. So learning is for the most part quite independent though there is a button to contact the instructor. I haven't tried it yet. I'm just a few days in and haven't even done the first unit. Just going through the e-learning platform to get my bearings right.

And no I'm not associated with the institution, I happened to receive a link from a friend and of course I went through degreeinfo, degreeforum to learn if it's legit. So I will update here once in a while. I've been in degreeinfo since 2010 I think. I've done 3 Masters online, an LLM online, all from schools that are Top 100 in the world. I also did another Masters on-campus and a PhD on-campus. Both from universities that is a Russell Group member and ranks in the world top 30. So I believe I'm in a good position to evaluate good online learning.

This is the first time I'm doing a postgrad course awarded by a university that I have never heard of through a school that reminds me of the .com institutions in UK. But I've gone through their websites and all their documents and all external reports and I'm so far ok with their status. I'll hold my judgment until I complete the whole course. I've done a lot of online learning (I teach online learning on-campus and online to postgrads and supervise my postgrad students' dissertations). If anything I'm taking away from this, it's learning from Moodle which I myself used to train others more than 10 years ago! But if it serves its purpose there's nothing wrong with it.

I hope, I really hope that I'm going to be impressed by it in the next few months. Time will tell.

Thanks for sharing your insights about the ENEB school / Universidad Isabel I. Do you think it will get foreign equivalency to a regional or highest accreditation in other countries? What program(s) from ENEB did you choose to pursue?
