It wouldn't surprise me to see some schools shifting to Coursera/EdX, etc for their Intro courses so that they can focus Instructors on upper level courses. One ironic piece is that the adjunct instructors are probably more familiar with teaching online and yet they're are the most likely to be the first to go if lay-offs occur.

Our school transitioned to online, as of this week. My very first semester teaching on-campus, cut short at precisely the Spring Break point.
Good thing DegreeInfo had a decade making the idea of online normal for me.

I must admit that I like being retired at this point. I can watch all of the insanity over this COVID thingey and laugh my ass off. I can watch the higher education system go down the tubes faster than ever and laugh my ass off. I can watch my beloved theatre scene shut down in failure and laugh my ass off. I can watch prominent people ranging from politicians to celebrities test positive and laugh my ass off. I can watch lots of people die and laugh my ass off. I can watch a myriad of people get stuck in third world nations and not be able to return to the U.S. and laugh my ass off. I can watch seniors in Spain die off and left to rot in their hospital and nursing home beds, potentially food for vultures, and laugh my ass off. I can watch the entire restaurant industry go down the tubes and laugh my ass off, especially at the waiters and waitresses who lost their jobs and are out of money. I can watch people scrounge for toilet paper as if it were gold and laugh my ass off. I can watch the regulars here at DI pontificating on sociopolitical events as if their opinions could actually be worth more than an irrelevant piece of shit and laugh my ass off. I still await with gleeful anticipation to find out which of our DI denizens will themselves test positive.

Yes, these are wonderful and funny times in which we're living. I never realized how much fun I missed by not being alive in 1918.

OK, so we have a case of a senior citizen who literally can't stop laughing hysterically at everything. Mental decline is not a joke...

In today's society, Stan, everything is a joke.

If today's society is a joke it's because your generation made that way.

Senior citizens are most at risk. Covid-19 cases are on the rise in Delaware.

You're out of touch, Chris - I moved out of Delaware over a year ago.

Funny, I never made age jokes until some millennial who thought he or she was clever came up with "OK boomer." Since then, I laugh my ass off at millennials, too. Because they asked for it.

I suppose there's something to be said for consistency.

More of an indication of how little I care about your personal life.

You two really only have one option at this point... clearly... we need a dance fight...
