What´s your take on this one? The partner institutions seem impressive, the accreditations ... I don´t know.

Are these programs state-accredited? What do you think?

DegreeInfo has been in operation for almost 20 years. If you search for any school on this forum and do not find it, chances are that it is a degree mill.

This being your second such post, the question then becomes: Are you simply a [edited for obnoxious content], sir, or are you intentionally shilling for these shams?

WEEI is my favorite sports radio station in Boston. I especially like the morning drive-time show with Greg Hill.

...so they claim that you will receive the final qualification (example: Doctor of Business Administration, Doctor of International Political Economy, etc) from the "selected partner university." If you head over to the partner institutions page, you see two Russian universities and one Chinese university. I've noticed that the particular Chinese university is also partnering up with other schools like the ASIC accreditation candidate, the "American University of Business and Social Sciences"; https://medium.com/@aubssseo/fast-track-online-accredited-mba-in-12-months-78f8b4c33926. You pay 11,000 dollars for these degrees at WEEI. Before paying the hefty sum, it would be good to determine the status of these degrees in the respective countries. Is there any chance that they could pass a credential evaluation elsewhere?

 

Some of the verbiage that they are using on their website, is very similar to a Nigerian scam that was operating on the premise of selling degrees from partner institutions. This website is much more polished though! It's only $11k to a stranger on the internet, what do you have to lose?

 

When you're dealing with these type of partnerships, it is best to call the named universities in order to confirm whether the partnerships have even been established. I wouldn't rely on the partner website's claims.

 

I also wouldn't assume that an accredited university always offers government-recognized degree programs.

There's some overlap between the World Executive Education Institute and the International Institute of Advanced Studies, which I believe is the new name for London College of Higher Education. Some interesting people over at IIAS, including Dr Linjie Chou, a graduate of Cloverfield University and the Yorker International University and founder of the European Management University International, and Dr Mohamed G Kafafy, an AAHEA (American Association for Higher Education and Accreditation) director and a West Coast University Panama, St Clements Swiss University and the University of America (aka Salt Lake Baptist College) guy. IIAS is a partner of Charisma University.

It's also pretty cool that he's a Knight Commander! Although the nearly extinct order that bestowed it doesn't have him on their roster... or at least he hasn't edited himself into the Wiki page... It's all cool though... I'm still not officially recognized as the Galaxy Defender from that super cool space ring I found in a cereal box when I was 22 er... let's just pretend I was seven, so I understand the anguish of people not respecting my authority or understanding my greatness. Some times it just takes time, I'm still holding on to it... and waiting... where are you alien invaders???! In the interim, while WEEI sounds intriguing, I'm just going to enroll in Snarf College and wait for the Thunder Cats signal to activate the powers of my space ring. By the way, if anyone received any of the other prizes, let's combine them together... pretty sure we'll gain super powers... er, maybe.

Dr Chou (or Zhou, rather) has been a guest professor at quite a few interesting schools. The European New University Kerkrade mentioned in the faculty profile is the old University of Northwest Europe, a school affiliated to the Amorsolo family's California University Foreign Credential Evaluation (CUFCE issued a degree equivalency certificate, stating that degrees from the University of Northwest Europe were equivalent to degrees from regionally accredited schools in the US) and, at least for a while, accredited by ASIC.

 

Some times we stumble down into an internet hole... Was really curious why a school that states they just bestow honorary credentials on people, would have guest professors, a history worthy of a Nintendo game in the eighties, along with a European school have a Rhode Island address and stateside web address, questionable marketing, not to mention the phenomenal "spiritual successor" to the original school... After a few rabbit holes, eventually found the founder... what an obituary! While there are some more interesting threads... lets just hope his life was full of happiness and joy along with his accomplishments.

 

IIRC, they used to be mellow rock when I lived there. "Roberta without all the Flack" and so forth.

 

Long-time readers may recall the original International Institute for Advanced Studies, a sincere effort at a nontraditional school based in Missouri. John Bear had a hand in helping the owner near the end. It is long gone now.
