Thinking about it, I think the Monkey Puzzle Trees were the marker of an earlier generation of West Coast Sailors but a marker nonetheless.

I'm going to drag this off-topic but maybe not by too much of a distance. I don't like Donald Trump as a man or a President. Then he kills Soleimani and while I basically think that it was a bad thing to do (for reasons already stated by others) we are quickly in the position of wondering "What's Trump going to do next?" Because we are also in an election cycle and there are Democratic debates going on it's reasonable to ask those candidates "What would you do now?" or at least to extrapolate from statements they've made in the past. So here's an article about Bernie Sanders. We hear a lot about his domestic agenda and less about his opinions on global affairs. His Democratic Socialist orientation puts him in bed with some unsavory characters and while he might be unlikely to start a war, it seems pretty clear that he is rather tolerant of some rather nasty behavior from others.

Well, it seems to me that Presidents talk differently during campaigns then all act pretty much the same once in office, at least about international relations. Mostly a matter of style I think. The Current Occupant is a lot more "out there" than his recent predecessors but targeted assassinations have been at least considered by everyone since Carter. What I find more interesting is that, according to fivethirtyeight.com President Trump's approval ratings have not deviated in either direction since the Soleimani killing. Amazing. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/trump-approval-ratings/?ex_cid=rrpromo

Nothing, apparently ABSOLUTELY nothing, will make this very unpopular President more popular and nothing will cause his base to withdraw support for him. Ive never seen anything like it.

I would be more comforted with one lie about this assassination instead of several.

Oh, I'm not comfortable with targeted assassinations at all. I'm merely suggesting that every modern President ends up behaving pretty much the same in this area. In any event, despite rock-solid unpopularity, I think it's pretty likely that DJT will be re-elected this year and that he will possibly even win the popular vote as well as the Electoral College. I think the Democrats are on a suicidal path to nominating Joe Biden. That's a problem because I can't see where Biden has a clue how Trump won the White House in the first place.

I have to agree. Not being able to coordinate the lies would indicate that the ability to govern and the chaos in the White House is really bad.
